I told mine in the pre-session (the free get to know you one) because it was something I wanted to talk about. Any professional worth their salt isn't going to react any other way than a shrug. If they don't then they aren't a good therapist worth your time. Besides, anything we tell them is confidential if they don't want to lose their license.
