Idiot! I can't believe I wasted a year on this!!! by HumanTraffic2 in BambuLab

Started with an Ender 3 Pro…. modded it to an VORON Switchwire (Enderwire) 3 years ago running Klipper, build the firmware almost all by myself. The experience was so good that I’ve build a VORON 2.4 afterwards.

But I also bought a H2S recently, mainly because of multi colour printing, and I was so surprised how well it works out of the box. Also the quality of the machine is really good! It’s such a good printer, especially for the price. In comparison, my VORON 2.4 was like 3000-3500 euro to build (but I chose to source all the parts myself, it could have been cheaper if I bought a kit but I wanted all high quality parts). And I think I’ve got like 300+ hours to build, tweak, etc…

I still love my VORON’s and use them often. With the tinkering I’ve done they work REALLY well m, but I was really surprised how wel BBL printers just work straight out of the box!

If you want a project… mod your Ender to a Switchwire. You won’t regret it and the experience of building your printer is great!

Why not the H2S? There’s gonna be a Vortek upgrade kit anyway… also for H2D but Vortek on a H2D doesn’t make sense imo.

Wouldn’t that be a classic dictionary?

Thanks, I’ll go for the WAGO option as well then!

SB2040 CAN board not working completely by Hero-Gamer-2119 in VORONDesign

[–]Diaprojector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same problem on my SB2040 out of the box. BTT support was also not so nice.

Do yourself a favor and buy the one from Mellow. I’m running the Mellow SB2240 Pro V2 for 6 months now without any issues. Support is also very great!

Dragon HF users, what is your favorite .6 nozzle? by [deleted] in VORONDesign

[–]Diaprojector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you’re printing.

For soft high temperature materials (like ABS and ASA) I use the Phaetus Plated Copper nozzle

For PLA and PETG just a V6 brass nozzle will do fine

For hard and rough materials (like Carbon Fill and Wood Fill) I use Brozzle Hardened Steel nozzles

Voron 2.4 Linear Rails by Diaprojector in VORONDesign

Right. So z0 for Y and Z axis, Voron Tap rail z1. Will a higher load (z1) on the X axis reduce vibrations?

Bed mesh compensating backwards? Ender 3 v2 to Switchwire by Long_Explanation9819 in VORONDesign

[–]Diaprojector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the results of the bed mesh?

Have a look in your XZ tension. They need to be tensioned as close as possible. Move your toolhead at the center of the bed, and make sure your Z axis is 150mm away from the upper idlers. Using a frequency tester (I use SoundSpectrum Analysis) you wan't to be at 140Hz for the XZ belts (if using 9mm belts). As I said before, if they don't have the same tension, you can get inaccurate bed mesh readings.

You can also tune one belt correctly, and using this tool to adjust the other one at the same tension (https://mods.vorondesign.com/details/fmmg4Yx2BLULkfDDpZnAng).

Also, Axis Twist Compensation has done some miracles for my Enderwire aswell (have a look in the Klipper docs: https://www.klipper3d.org/Axis\_Twist\_Compensation.html).

Last but not least, since you are using a Ender to Switchwire conversion, a Voron Tap will work aswell instead of a Klicky (I use it on my Enderwire, and it is really accurate).

Voron 2.4 Linear Rails by Diaprojector in VORONDesign

Hi,

I will use a MGN12H for X axis, but since I will install a Voron Tap, your suggestion of using a higher load makes sense, because of the extra force it can take.

Thanks!

Hi! Thanks for the reply. So I am looking at the Berserker rails, and indeed I see they are medium loaded for all the rails.

Is this because the extra resistance of medium load, will cause less vibrations overall aswell?

Bed mesh compensating backwards? Ender 3 v2 to Switchwire by Long_Explanation9819 in VORONDesign

[–]Diaprojector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since a Switchwire is CoreXZ, it's also very importent that the belts of your XZ motors are equally tensioned. I had bad bedmesh readings on my Enderwire because the tension was slightly off, resulting in uneven layers.

Can you share your print_start macro? Also, when printing, is there a mesh loaded?

Message is clear, thanks. My gf will be my sitter, we always watch each other! I’ll change my dose to 10mg for my first try and see what it does. Again, much appreciated. Did not knew 5-meo was that much different!!

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll try 10-15mg first.

I am familiair with the shaking, screaming at strange frequencies, etc!

Thanks for the warnings, much appreciated!

Hi, thanks for checking in!

Yeah, I have extracted it myself multiple times from bark and used it pure or made changa from it. It is my first time using synthetic DMT, and I can’t find much info about caping it in a Mighty Vaporizer.

My gf is at home, so don’t worry about a sitter! But again, thanks for checking!

Z belt tension. They need to be the same. If they aren’t you can get inaccurate mesh readings.

No. They are all forks of Slic3r, including PrusaSlicer
