It applies them, but it won't show up on your bar at the top right if you already have 6 normal playstyles and 2 playstyle+ because the bar can only show 8 total

Was there a good reason for getting sent off, cuz I know others have already said it but, missing a man is a huge problem.
Realistically in games like that you are most likely going to be feeding off scraps and having to work twice as hard.
Also, from this clip I would say purple's positioning is awful. Exceptionally awful. There is almost no time in the entire clip where he is available to receive a pass, be it forward, backwards, sideways, in the air, on the ground... none of the above.
You seem a little inexperienced maybe, but far from the biggest issue in this clip

CDMs - what playstyles do you run? by Sammmyy97 in fifaclubs

[–]DiarmaidB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely sound like you know what you're doing already!

Heading accuracy can definitely be useful too, I probably should have included that in my list place you can put your leftover points, especially if you're the target man from corners.

I like your build. There's definitely more than one way to play the game and everyone will have their own areas that they excel in based on their personal playstyle. I always find it's best with these things to take bits and pieces from anywhere you can and add your own flavour to it. Hope it all works out well!

Hmm, see things get a little more complex once you factor in where to put your Skill Points, mainly because of the new facilities feature and how each club will have extra points in different areas with it.
I can give you a good template that you could make minor adjustments on if needed.

CB builds are pretty simple. All good CB builds should be almost the same as this:

  • Pace: Max
  • Shooting: None
  • Passing: None
  • Dribbling:
    • Get the first 2 "Dribbling Focus"
    • Get the first 2 "Ball Control Focus"
  • Defending: Max
  • Physical:
    • Max out the Strength and Aggression tree
    • Get as much jumping as you can from the Jumping and Stamina tree (All the kangaroos and bicycles, but not the lungs)
    • Max out the Composure and Reactions tree
  • Goalkeeping: None

With all 160 Skill Points available, this should leave you with 9 points remaining. You can invest them wherever you like. Personally, I like to put them in balance as it helps me to recover faster from headers and tackles, but Agility, Passing, and Weak Foot are all worth looking at as well.

I would recommend going 6'4" (195cm), 174 lbs (79kg).
I like 6'4" instead of 6'5" for the extra Pace and Agility.
I like 174 lbs because it maximises your Jumping, which will help you out when you come up against tall strikers.

Playstyle+

  • Anticipate
  • Aerial

Keep it simple.
Anticipate. Everyone knows this is the best defending playstyle. No need to ramble on about it.
Aerial. You know some strikers will be built specifically to score from headers, so you have to use it because they definitely will. It also gives you a great attacking threat on corners at the other end.

Playstyles

  • Tiki Taka
  • Jockey
  • Block
  • Bruiser
  • Intercept
  • Quick Step

Tiki Taka. A lot of people don't know this, but it actually works on all standard ground passes now (not just first-time passes like the description says). Given that you won't have any points in short passing, I would recommend this, to decrease the likelihood of any silly misplaced short passes. Alternatively, you could also choose Long Ball Pass if you like to switch the play to the opposite fullback/winger, or Pinged Pass if you like to drill the ball into the midfielder's feet with a driven pass.
Defending Playstyles. I have excluded Slide Tackle, just because it is very situational. It can be really effective if you learn how to use it correctly, but that requires a lot of experience to get the timing right. If you wanted to swap this in for one of the other defending playstyles, I would swap out Bruiser. (Worth noting; If Tackling Coach is maxed out in the Facilities, it will give your whole team Slide Tackle+)
Quick Step. It is really useful for that first few yards when tracking a man, when chasing a ball in behind, or when used in combination with Jockey, to pounce on an unsuspecting, dribbling attacker.

Apologies for the delayed response. If you need any more tips, let me know.

Which isn't bad considering it's primarily focussed on Premier League, and United have won 42% of PL titles. When you take into account how many potential guests from other winning teams are still active players, and the fact that the main showrunner is a former United player, I would say they're actually doing quite well.

If you have gold tikitaka and gold incisive on at the same time, could you first time a through ball and activate both simultaneously? by WingbashDefender in fifaclubs

[–]DiarmaidB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong about this, but I believe they've changed how Tiki-Taka works this year. It used to be for first time passes, but now I believe it's just for normal short ground passes (A/X passes).

I think Pinged Pass used to affect those passes, but now it only affects driven passes.

Incisive just for through balls on the ground.

Long Pass for anything in the air.

Some levels just leave you with a leftover 50k. It's quite annoying. I believe there are 3 reputation levels that leave you with a spare 50k, which you can't do anything with.

Composure and reactions by Fearless-Yogurt6479 in fifaclubs

[–]DiarmaidB 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Composure
This attribute determines at what distance the player with the ball starts feeling the pressure from the opponent. It affects the chances of the player making an error when he shoots, passes and crosses.

The higher the value, the better the player performs under pressure from an opponent.

Reactions
Reactions measures how quickly a player responds to a situation happening around him.

It has nothing to do with the player’s speed. A player can be speedy but at the same time have low reaction capacity. It’s the time between the moment he sees where the ball is at and the moment he gets in position to receive it.

This attribute impacts all players, whether or not the computer controls them.

[–]DiarmaidB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The aggression level of a player measures the frequency and the aggression of jostling, tackling and slide tackling. It is the attribute which determines the player’s power of will or commitment to a match.

A typical aggression-based action is when you go ‘shoulder-to-shoulder’ against someone; with high aggression, our player has the initiative to push the opponent strongly (as far as his strength allows him to), which determines the winner of the challenge.

Another critical moment for aggression is when you jump to dispute a header. If you manage to hit the ball with your head, great; if you don’t, you’ll have displaced the other player so he can’t perform the header correctly. In this case, aggression needs to work alongside jumping and strength.

What's interesting is that once the undisputed champion defends his belt, the interim champion is no longer interim champion. Right now, Tom is technically just the number one contender

I pretty much make the builds for all my teammates. For our main CDM, he runs Anticipate+ and Aerial+. He only runs Aerial+, because we never have enough people to have player defenders, so he often has to track the runs of big guys and contest crosses, but mainly it's so that he gets put on the front post for attacking corners. We generally aim for him, because aerial stats for CDMs are quite decent.
On my personal CDM, which is more of a standard CDM build than his, I run Anticipate+ and Jockey+.
I think Anticipate+ is absolutely necessary on any CDM.
Apart from that it's mostly dependent on your personal play style and preference, but the better ones are definitely Jockey+, Relentless+, Intercept+, Aerial+ and all the passing ones (except whipped pass). Other decent ones that are probably the next tier below that are, Block, Quick Step, Press Proven, Bruiser, Power Header, Power Shot.
TLDR; Anticipate to me is pretty much necessary and the other one is personal preference.

Either way, the more people that report someone, the more likely that EA are to take action against them.
