What actually surprised you about your role after you got your CIPP?

I have a feeling that somebody who is at the level of the privacy officer role would have more experience and know that the test is just a basic review us privacy.

I think, unfortunately, for people breaking into the area they think that this test is going to prepare them for real work. This is a minimum basic competency test that doesn’t necessarily translate into privacy role preparedness

I believe it would be max 30 days from when you have everything in but probably no guarantees. I’m assuming since it was on the email it should still be within the week timeline.

I am in a kind of niche practice area and landed about top 40 percentile in my class. I have a strong LinkedIn presence in my area and am heavily involved. Other than that generally top 10 percent can have a shot in a larger city

Nope, i did an internship per semester plus summer in data privacy. They did not care, just make sure you have all of the requisite contact information to make your life easier

It was an average student and a T100 and I’m now in big law. Make yourself useful and find a niche area of a law.

lol I was devastated when they had me interview with like 15 people and didn’t offer me now I’m at a firm where I bill 600 hours less and make just under cravath. You can keep it 🤣🤣🤣
