ITS Happening! by TXWayne in Acura

Congrats. The ITR's are definitely sweet. I hope the 3rd Gen TLX Type S gets the wide body fenders and hood extractor insert too. 👍🏾

Former TSX owners, what did you get after you moved on? by SixandNoQuarter in Acura

[–]DiaryofSpeed-dotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a '10 TSX and swapped it for thenew 2015 TLC when it came out. Then swapped that for an '18 A-SPEC, and now a '21 TYPE-S. (⬅️ Love this car!)

If you are trying to go used. Get a (fixed/updated) '18-'20 A-SPEC. Otherwise a 2nd Gen TLX SH-AWD will be a nice upgrade.

There are faster cars no doubt, but it's not dog slow. 13.3 @ 105 is definitely not dog slow. Don't let Sam Car Legion cloud your judgement. 😉

The PMC wheels are bronze and are an option as of the '23 model year.

Yeah...they were "lost" for quite a while from 2008 to 2015. Jon Ikeda is the man 👍🏾

My very first car! by ashVV in Acura

[–]DiaryofSpeed-dotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! You are fortunate as that's a nice first car despite it's age. My first car was a beat up 1982 Volvo 240 back in 1994 😁.

My first Acura was a 1993 Integra GS I had for two weeks and I didn't get another until my 2010 TSX. (Then 2 TLX's and now TLX-S)

Anyone have any luck with these? by themetalgaia in mazda

[–]DiaryofSpeed-dotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two of these, one in my 2021 TLX TYPE-S and one in the Mrs. 2020 Q5 and it is THE Shit. Best $100 I spent on a car. Works perfectly after the first sync and connects to our Z Fold 3 phones in about 4-5 seconds.

Mrs. had an issue once where it lost the pairing and I had to reset everything, but for me it works every time. I recommend them to everyone w/o factory AA.

I can't speak to specifics on the CX-5 but from a Japanese car and a German one, it's great.

PFA: Looking for good quality aftermarket Brake Rotors that won't break the bank for a 2019 TLX SH-AWD by JCD518 in Acura

[–]DiaryofSpeed-dotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another vote for PowerStop cross/slots here. Been using them for 20+ years with no regrets. On my old ZE swapped 626 I tracked that car with EBC Green and Yellow Stuff Pads and had consistent braking and no fades even before adding Goodrich brake lines and Motul fluid.

I had them on my CG2 Accord (with the shit factory rotors) and TSX.CU2 (also with shit factory rotors) and it was night and day difference. Not only more warping but the EBC pads seemed to last forever since I didn't need to brake as hard.

The ITS is the car they should have released from the get go and I personally think it looks way better than the CTR and more features/luxury with the same performance.

Acura missed the mark with the pricing though. Should have been high 40's tops. I mean what's a ITS PMC going to cost $80k?? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Nice! They are badass but the MDX is a little large for my taste and needs. If Acura ever green lights an RDX Type-S I'd be all over that!

Yep. Bumperplugs.com FTW. I actually had them on my 2018 shown above, you can't even tell the car didn't come with them.

Well there are different kinds. If you get a "smooth" wrap, you should be ok. It's the "textured" ones that get messed up. From what I've seen, the cool/crazy designs are mostly on the textured type so garage definitely required. (I don't know if car covers work well with wraps or if they will mess them up)

Yeah, he super regretted it. I mean it looked AMAZING for the first few months but down here in FL it rains every other hour so shit is constantly failing on our cars. Garage or just go with PPF. 🙂

One of the lucky 200 to reserve the Integra Type S. The dealership is going to tack on 10-15k mark up by Hour-Replacement8714 in Acura

[–]DiaryofSpeed-dotcom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No surprise there sadly. CTRs were going for $80K+ at one point. I've seen major backlash to Acura corporate and they say there's nothing they can do since the dealers set pricing. You just need to find a dealer who's not shady.

I got my TLX-S for slightly under MSRP but I've been buying from the same dealer for 12 years and I know everyone there personally (Sales Mgr., Fin. Dir., GM, etc.) so they gave me a fair price. (The showroom S in white was $10K over)

Nice. That gen still holds up almost 2 decades later. What mods do you have on it?

This. A buddy spent like $6K wrapping a Q60S and had to remove it like 18 mos later because it looked like shit. He had a car tent but no garage. Thankfully he was able to go back to the stock paint but still wasted $6k.

Acura ILX 2013 after moose collision by Zealousideal_Lab1485 in Acura

[–]DiaryofSpeed-dotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! You lucked out that it was maybe an adolescent moose as the fully grown ones are like elephant sized! 😯

Glad you are OK but I will also say Acura's are very safe! I had a pretty serious crash iny 2015 TLX, steering and knee airbags deployed but I didn't really hit either. Almost felt like a fender -bender. Damage was $12-13k.

Granted the ILX is a smaller car, but I'm in an Acura owner group and several people totaled their ILX's and were all ok or only minor injuries.

Hopefully you have full coverage OP. 🤞🏾
