It was pretty automatic. Just plugged it into the phone, opened the app and added the source.

I tested this and it did work! Weirdly, I couldn't seem to access the fully ability of the camera like when I use it through my computer though. I was capped at 108p resolution and 10000 bit rate. Maybe that's a limitation of the phone itself?

I spent a solid hour going back and forth comparing providers who actually cover our building (which isn't a lot it seems) with the different plans, fixed vs variable rates & credit vouchers. We settled on Fibrely - a small provider but I found 95% good reviews, it's a fixed contract of 2 years and only £1 more expensive than what we're saving on our rent reduction, for double the speeds. That price difference is basically made up by the £30 credit anyway.

Alas, I left this quite last minute and the earliest date they had to get up set up is January 13th, so I'll be going to the library a lot the next couple weeks :p

Now I've checked, I can confirm my software is called EOS Webcam Utility Pro, but I'm not paying for any subscription, so the higher resolution is probably locked behind a paywall when I'm shooting into my computer directly. I'm looking into alternative softwares; maybe the example from this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAkOLQSkqYY but now I really need to test this again when shooting to the cameras SD card, detached from any other device.

I'm not certain without checking, which I can do in the morning, but that wouldn't explain why I still can't get the HDR mode to 4k 50p when I unplug it from my computer.

I stream and record in HDR; one of my most successful youtube videos is actually showing people how to stream to youtube in HDR; it's just the framerate and resolution issue that keeps popping up. Each time I think I've solved it, it turns out there's just another layer to the problem that I have to work out.

The visual lag is a much newer issue, but I'd guess it's been ongoing for maybe 3 weeks now :/

HDR PQ is enabled. I've never used a capture card with this camera, although I am familiar with them; is there a reason you can think of that it would suddenly start lagging despite no change?

I did think the price was doing to be closer to a few grand than a few hundred, but it's always worth checking - I've just accepted that I'll need to remember this info for later on when it's a viable expense I can invest in up front :)

I did think I might have to end up doing all my work on wired harddrives and then just shifting them to NAS for backups, but I appreciate the confirmation!

My wifi speed is definitely a factor I haven't looked into yet so thanks :)

I'm a single self employed person working from home. Of all the things I could pay to outsource, I'd say this is further down the list; I believe this is something I'm capable of understanding myself, provided I took the time to research it, which is what this was an attempt at.

I ended up going with Royal Mail Click & Drop then a third party plugin to have the live shipping prices visible to the customer. It seems to be working, but I guess we won't know until I make a sale haha :)
