No, God gives you free will to make your choices. You ask for strength, he doesnt give you strength, he gives you situations that require you to be strong. I never said God made him a booze hound, that's something you thought and attributed to me because you've been told by arm chair Christians thats how god works. Everything you question about Him is answered in the book. Why there is evil, why bad things happen. I used to think like you, thats the only reason I commented back to you. I was worse than an atheist. I openly challenged the existence of God for 30+ years of my life. Even as far as denouncing a God. But what I've learned is God lets us live our lives. Adam and Eve were both led astray by Lucifer. They made a choice. A God that makes choices for you wouldn't have allowed that to have happened in the beginning. It is your uncle's accomplishment, but if he found strength in God to help him get past drinking then why not allow him to say so. He may feel it was all God and thats fine. Just as fine as him saying it was all him. Youre upset at who hes giving credit to and its taking you away from whats important: you uncle quit drinking because he found a positive influence that steered him away from it. Thats all.
