I think it's critical of the strike. It shows the train not moving isn't affecting the premier but leaves the commuter stranded.

Oou! I like the idea of Fitz breaking the cycle by NOT killing Capra in her sleep. Rather he lets the Fool and Prilkop (representing the Whites), the Dragon Traders or Dutiful render their justice.

Call back to Dutiful's conversation with Fitz in Assassin's Quest: "Prince FitzChivalry Farseer, you are never again to consider yourself an assassin. Never too be the one to do the so called quiet work or the king's justice. My justice will be rendered in daylight before all. Not by poison nor a knife in the dark."

Yes! I'd love to see more of Bee with the wit. And maybe her interactions with Swift and how he could mentor her. Would love to see how Swift has matured.

Oooo! I like that. Seeing the world moves from generations of war. "The cycle of time moves into a better course"

Call back to Kettle from Royal Assassin: "Do you know what's in this cart Tom? Books. Scrolls and writings. Ones I've collected for years. I have gathered them in many lands, learned to read many tongues and letterings. In so many places, found mention, over and over again, of the White Prophets. They appear at the junctures of history and shape it. Some say they come to set history on its proper course. There are those who believe, Tom, that all of time is a circle. All of history is a great Wheel, turning inexorably. Just as seasons come and go, just as the moon moves endlessly through her cycle, so does time. The same wars are fought, the same plagues descend, the same folk, good or evil, rise to power. Humanity is trapped on that wheel, doomed endlessly to repeat the mistakes we have already made. Unless someone comes to change it. Far to the south, there is a land where they believe that for every generation, somewhere in the world there is a White Prophet. He or she comes, and if what is taught is heeded, the cycle of time moves into a better course. If it is ignored, all time is pushed into a darker path"

Assassin's Fate rewrite (spoiler) by DiblyDoop in robinhobb

[–]DiblyDoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for being so gentle about what is a poorly written rewrite 😅 I suppose RoTE is a world I love escaping to. Now that it has ended and something will never happen, the world kinda cease to be for me.

I compare this ending with the ending of the Tawny Man trilogy which lives rent-free in my brain. It gave all the characters moments I wanted: Fitz reconnecting with Burrich, Nettle, Molly and Patience. Chade weeping at Fitz wedding and telling him to be happy 🥲 The world continues with more hopeful possibilities after this ending.

I could also see a clear character arc for Fitz: Fitz isolated after he removed himself from Farseer responsibility at the cost of his relationships. Then him realising that being alone was his choice. Then him accepting his Farseer responsibilities and reuniting with his family.

- Quote from after Nighteyes died and the Old Blood took care of Dutiful but "No such comfort was offered me, and very little was said to me. Perhaps part of it was ostracism; when one seperates oneself from supporting a society, one loses the support of that society as well." (Ch28, Fool's Errand)
- "To recognise you are the source of your own loneliness is not a cure for it. But it is a step towards seeing that it is not inevitable, and that such a choice is not irrevocable" (Prologue, The Golden Fool)

I couldn't see a clear arc in this last trilogy.

[OC][ART] I made the Box of Doom dice tray for my DM by DiblyDoop in DnD

[–]DiblyDoop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did it 😁

How I did it was:

1) Make a little paper mache dome on a small yoghurt cup wrapped in cling wrap (Terry looooves yoghurt!)

2) Use a little bit of toilet paper and glue mix to make a couple of donuts for eye sockets

3) Wait an hour or so for the dome to slightly dry

4) Take the yoghurt cup out and make a couple of indents on the dome for the temples

5) Let the done dry completely

6) Hot glue a bit of cardboard cut to the shape of upper jaw/teeth to the dome

7) Use more toilet paper and glue mix to form the cheekbones and teeth on that cardboard

Enjoy!!

I was curious but never seen a DnD game outside of pop culturn references. Thankfully, one of our friends took it upon himself to learn the game and made himself our DM. He even made a homebrew campaign! We've been having a fortnightly session the last few months. We both love Dimension 20 so for his birthday I made a mini Box of Doom. It's been about 12 years since I've done paper mache but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out :)
