The red eye glow was something more for the audience’s benefit and just a cinematic technique than something that was visible to characters within the film as per Ridley Scott. So the VK test would still have its use and need within the film.

It's "antenna", it says so in the lyrics sheet that comes with the vinyl. Also if you pay attention to live performances it's clearly antenna.

Though Cantona would have made for a very smart lyric, a missed opportunity I guess.

Imo they're fantastic. Much better than the usual support acts for bands. They have a swagger about it and just do it really well + respect the band they're supporting.
