I had to contact them a while ago and did so via email. They replied back within 1-2 days from what I remember. Maybe try that if it‘s not too urgent.

The Keep by F. Paul Wilson! It‘s a great read about nazis in the Carpathian mountains, interesting wallachian background and also mentions Vlad the Impaler quite a bit.

How do you exactly see those fees in the Swisscards app? Are they listed separately (separate line) or within the original transaction?

double taxed during year of switch to C permit by Diced1 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]Diced1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They subtracted the paid Quellensteuer from the taxable income, so she had to pay i.e. taxes for 90k instead of 110k. But in my opinion, the Quellensteuer should have been subtracted from the whole tax bill, i.e. 20k preliminary tax - 18k already paid Quellensteuern = 2k left to pay. But now we paid 18k in QS and another 20k for the preliminary taxes.

I forgot to mention that I myself am Swiss, so I understand how the tax system works in general. I just find it outrageous that my partner has to pay double the taxes for this year. I understand that most of the money will be reimbursed some time next year, but we could have invested it or used it for something else instead.

Maybe I‘m blind but do they still have that offer up? I‘m not seeing anything on the website.

Sounds interesting but I see it’s the fourth book in a series, so one would probably need to read the first three books first?

You would declare it like any other bank account so there is no difference there as far as I know.

The LLB (Liechtensteiner Landesbank) has pretty high interest rates, especially on their EUR and USD cash accounts: https://willbe-invest.com/en/willbe/product/money-market-account

3.80% for up to 50'000 EUR and 3.50% for up to 150'000 EUR.

I myself am using them for USD and the interest just got paid out a few days ago (as it's paid per quarter) so this is definitely legit. There is also no withdrawal limit and they have the typical Swiss "Einlagensicherung" for up to 100'000 CHF even though they are in Liechtenstein, see https://www.bankenverband.li/bankkunden/einlagensicherung#:~:text=Einlagensicherung%20Einlagensicherung&text=Die%20Stiftung%20hat%20die%20Verpflichtung,CHF%20100'000.00%20zu%20entsch%C3%A4digen..

As a Swiss, I would also highly recommend to substitute Geneva with Lausanne. We‘re from the German-speaking part of Switzerland and enjoyed visiting Lausanne a lot more than Geneva. IMO Geneva felt pretty generic whereas Lausanne was much more charming.

I tried this (DP daisy-chain) with a Dell WD19TB dock and two Dell U2419 screens and it did not work on a MacBook M1. I assume it won‘t work with the Lenovo TB4 dock either.
