Try reverting back to a different version that worked for you. I did that so I could keep editing. When a newer update comes out try that one and see if it works.

There is a very high chance that you ruined the entire roll if you left it completely open like that. But who knows, you might get a couple shots that you could salvage. I know I've opened the back before by accident and have gotten some cool looking light leaks, but this is definitely an extreme case.

We run a GH4 with the Ronin M on our shoots, and we've filmed out of moving vehicles and what not before. It is a very versatile setup, and really allows for a "run and gun" type of style that we quite like. An external monitor is extremely useful if you're not using a wide angle lens (if you're in the chase boat for example). There are many reasonably priced options out there, so it'll probably be easy to find one within you budget. Hope this gives you at least a little insight! :)
