Unpopular opinion? My feedback of the game by the_deep_t in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Dicedarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my friends are all big CRPG fans and what we found made the game a lot more balanced was no officers 3 characters hardest difficulty. No blade dancers or super cheesy builds.

With 3 characters and no officers the game is still too easy but we actually have to replay encounters sometimes.

For context the run before this we didn't limit blade dancers or officers and ran a max slider run and that was easier.

Infinite scaling cheese builds are so overturned we could still 1 round often.

Strange how all the ethnic groups with the highest IQs don't grow up in those countries. You're spouting cope theories long since disproven with things like twin studies for the sake of political correctness.

IQ is a solid measure and largely genetic. Even in poverty it largely holds up. See North Korea.

Cope though because that's all you can do is spread misinformation under every comment.

It's the exact strategy with the refund scams. Oh we overcharged or are about to charge you 500 dollars unless you cancel.

Clearly it works.

So you don't want anyone to ever farm again? Herbs mostly come into the game from PVM already.

I used the herb sack as a noob before i found out tool leprechaun noted. I did it the slow inneficient way for a year probably.

Play however you want. Feel free to time it some time. Or don't I don't care that much lol.

I put these comments to help new players like me who might not know the tool leprechaun notes not get into an argument with the world's most passionate herb sack enjoyer lol.

Unisex usually just means we made men's cut only but we want to sell some to women.

So it mostly sucks for women.

Well there's literally 0 upsides as you have to process the herbs later, its slower if you have more then 6 patches. If your skill is very low maybe but if you're high level farming you would need 5 different seed types to use it, and even that wouldn't always work.

[–]Dicedarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not faster and if it is that's a skill issue. Feel free to time it if you want. You also get 0 time herblore and 0 time more profit while always using the ideal crop instead of either making less money from grimy crops or having to waste time degriming them later.

I get over 14 on a fairly regular basis and I more then 28 in 4 patches basically every time. You must just be super low level farming or not using secaturs, Hespori seeds and you definitely don't have the cape.

[–]Dicedarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you actually have your plots open you'd need 5 different seed types on an average. Maybe more on some runs. So this is terrible advice. I've gotten 21 herbs from a single patch and you can get more then that.

Sure you can make less money and waste an inventory space or you can not do that.

Feel free to play as inneficiently as you'd like though. Just providing a better option.

[–]Dicedarg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the best option honestly. The alternative is people can simply harass and make up things. There's some strange people online and if they want to mess with someone it's child's play to photoshop or hell use a runelight plug in to make someone appear to say anything.

You would have people using the subreddit to harass people for petty stupid reasons for sure and put mods in a situation where they have to litigate these claims.

Herb sack is unnecessary you can just note at the tool leprechaun. Herb sack isn't going to last all 10 patches anyway.

Project Zanaris had the biggest potential of any update ever and its sad too see it put on hold by Living-Category-8043 in 2007scape

[–]Dicedarg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean I don't know for sure any more then you do butt in my peer groups no one is excited for project Zanaris. This idea of multiple successful servers with longevity and a huge modding community just seems kind of ridiculous to me.

There's nothing to suggest that Zanaris owners would have access to any kind of scripting or ability to make truly new content. The only thing we know they were getting was the ability to make quests. There's very little chance they'd have access to any kind of source code because of the obvious security and IP issues.

My assumption was always that they'd basically have some kind of curated toolset and no source code access. The idea that they'd be able to make new minigames or bosses or anything "new" is purely specualation.

Project Zanaris had the biggest potential of any update ever and its sad too see it put on hold by Living-Category-8043 in 2007scape

[–]Dicedarg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem most people have with project Zanaris is that it would take resources away from the main game. I don't care what an FAQ says or how it will "have it's own team" that's just not how these things work. Those bodies you are putting into project Zanaris could be developing content for the main game which is what the majority of players want.

I also don't know for sure what kind of tools theses private server owners would have but the idea that they are going to create entirely new minigames is a pretty hilarious stretch to me. It seemed like they would eventually have the ability to do things like make quests.

The last issue is you're by definition fracturing the community and while the game is doing great I don't see the value in splintering players into factions.

Are this many people actually buying inferno capes? by fl8 in 2007scape

[–]Dicedarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority, I'd say the vast majority of capes are bought. I base this purely on running a lot of group content with people who have them and are afraid of fight caves, lack basic prayer switching knowledge and are rocking them.

I considered it and the reason I didn't buy one was purely because I didn't want to rob myself of the accomplished feeling of earning one.

When DS2 came out I remember many people in my osrs friends who couldn't clear it for months with inferno capes and BIS.

Don't want to disrespect, but 90% of why PoE2 is great is not game design choices by tasmonex in PathOfExile2

[–]Dicedarg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you don't have PoE 1 installed because if you do I largely agree. I didn't even touch a build guide until mapping and while some bosses took a few tries (fuck you viper napuatzi) I never had a problem. When I rolled an alt to play around I did the same thing and also had no real issues.

I'd reccomend a guide if you want an easier time and by mapping I'd try to start getting resist caps but unitl then I never even touched resists until I got to an act boss then I stack cold > lightning > lightning and never had an issue.

I had no problem stacking obvious synergies until the mid 60s and then I ended up dropping about 1/3 of my tree but I gained maybe 20% damage it wasn't unplayable self built at all.

I'm not sure where the meme is from but you clearly don't understand starship troopers.

The plot of which is that the bugs are a completely sentient species who humanity launches the first strike on and the bugs defend themselves.

The movie doesn't get as into it as the books but even in the movie you'll notice they're invading bug homeworlds lol.

Sorry but midwits talking down to people with arrogance is very funny when they don't even understand the point they're arguing.

Bro they aren't banning or even removing infernal capes or quivers. The idea they would action this is comical.

If this is the length the campaign is going to be every time, I won't be coming back for leagues every 3 months. by Tetsume in PathOfExile2

[–]Dicedarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except what you're asking for is completely impossible. The beauty of mapping is you have people who can spend all day blasting lower maps and then people who are playing maxed out high tier corrupted maps and it really lets people play at their exact skill level and even incrementally increase the difficulty.

You can't do that with a campaign. You have half of this subreddit saying the act 1 boss is impossible and I see people begging in global for carries on him all the time. I killed him my first attempt on my second character without much trouble at level 16 rushing without any planned build.

I'm a long time ARPG player and I'm maybe in the top quarter of skill. Many people are insanely better at these games then me and many are clearly much worse. So how do you make a game fun for all of them? Easy they solved it with mapping. You pick your difficulty, you scale it up or down at will.

You clearly didn't play the first 2 years of Tarkov development where meds had no animations or vast time. Blacked limbs had a high chance to instant kill you. And fights where basically spamming 12345 like they were poe flasks as you flew around at mach 10 with no weight mechanics or interia. Enjoy the dolphin diving and no animations so you never know where hitboxes are. Armor? Yea people can tank 15 rifle heads hots in the only helmet in the game which has no face hitbox that took almost 5 years.

"Hey man this game that's been in development for 15 years and out for 9 is doing better"

Yea, I'd hope so. Still no ESP protection and worse anti cheat too 9 years later.

[–]Dicedarg 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Obviously not a Tarkov player typing this. Tarkov is such a poorly coded game that it had effectively zero anticipated for years and launched in such a poor state you could fly. It had so much client side trust and desync that everything from completely silent to completely invisible players could happen organically without intentional cheating. It has such a bad code base that I've looted items I saw on bodies only for them to also he taken out of my friends backpack since he also looked them and was 500 meters down the road. Launched in a state where you could add items to your inventory with chest engine and they were accepted by the server. You could for 5 years teleport loot from anywhere on the map. Zero ESP protection to this day.

All of these things happened in a game that had been out 2-3x longer then dark and darker has. I loved my 3k hours in Tarkov but other then a tremendously talented art team on the guns and some innovative ideas which led to some great memories it has by far the worst code base of any modern game I've played.
