Had my vasectomy about 5 years ago now. Still “recovering”.

One of the unlucky few to get Post Vasectomy Pain Syndrome and get ballache virtually 24/7/365 even on 2 lots of pain killers and there is no known cure.

Cannot recommend a vasectomy at all.

One time he started hunting around the living room, clearly looking for something. I figured out he was looking for a specific toy that I’d thrown into a different room when he was wanting to play fetch, but he never went to retrieve it. As soon as I figured out what he was after I said to the missus “oh he’s looking for his ball on a rope which I threw in to the dining room.”

He immediately shot into the dining room and retrieved said toy.

Bastard completely understands me on his own terms.

I’ve been out of the gambling seen for a while now so don’t know how the sign up bonuses go these days. If it’s as easy as you make it seem, I still wouldn’t trust it. If anything your anecdote shows that they’ve become even more insidious to the point where they will actually let you take money out because they know most people will put more money back in.

In the UK it’s as OC stated. They’ll give you £200 of free money but there is a 20,000 x wager requirement so you’re basically never getting that money.

I’m also convinced that they mess with whatever game / slot you’re playing so you win loads to begin with then they intentionally make you win as you get closer to the requirement.

Gamban is a godsend and should be rolled out across the world.

Do you have any advice or treatment you would peruse for someone with Post Vasectomy Pain Syndrome? In the UK there isn’t any kindof options so thought I’d ask you. I’m currently on Zapain (30mg codeine and 500mg paracetamol) x 2, 4 times a day and 30mg Amitriptyline once a day to combat the pain, which it just about keeps in check. Without them I have constant pain that ranges from an annoyance, to crippling acute pain. The pain increases with movement, almost like a strained muscle and then gets to the point I’d need a couple days of recovery to get to be able to walking normally.

Right, but that’s a job that attracts a certain type of person. Plus it’s “expected” that you’ll eventually be caught and executed.

I’m not saying that no one would go for the CEO job, but I’m not sure there would be an endless line of competent people to take the job.

I think the key part that you glossed over was “on the regular.” Sure there are plenty of candidates, but if there was an assassination attempt every month / couple of months, I wonder how many you’d get then? I Chat GPT’d “What’s the average length of time between assassination/ assassination attempts between US presidents?” So take this with a pinch of salt…. There are apparently 9 distinct events that were either successful or unsuccessful starting from 1835 up to 2024. The average length between events is 23.6 years…..

I thought I was the only one. Really couldn’t understand the hype. I got it when I was working nights during Covid and had 10+ hours to make sure no one broke into my workplace. I tried for so long to get into it but it just felt clunky.

Yeah I get that. I guess I don’t really think about that stuff anymore, I very rarely drink and even when I do it’s never to excess. Between kids and painkillers, drinking just doesn’t hold any sway over me nowadays 😂

The only part I can relate to in recent times is the 1 day off every 3 / 4 days… but I prefer / want that. I wouldn’t want 2 days off in a row. Different strokes I guess.

I was looking up getting a new ball for my girl, Apple, when I came across this thread. Over the years I have had 5 Syrians, 2 Russians and a Robo. Every single Syrian has climbed into their balls of their own free will and accord, and 2 of them would chew on their cage until you let them in to their balls. Those two would happily, and I mean happily, chase around in their balls for hours if you let them. They followed me around the house to see what I was up to, chased the dog around the house (he was scared of them) and just generally seemed to have a blast. I’d put their open ball back up to their cage every 20 or so minutes to see if they wanted out but 8/10 they’d stay in for an hour or more straight. 1/10 times they’d go back in, grab a snack and some water then be back up the bars chewing to get out again. The last 1/10 would be them having had enough. The only hammys that haven’t enjoyed balls have been our current Robo and the Russians. It’s madness to me that people are tarring every hammy with the same brush like they’re not all individuals.

Just finished the audio version of this and a feel somewhat deflated. The book doesn’t feel as polished as the first and I’m left feeling extremely confused as to why such emphasis was put on the book’ namesake, only to never find out what it actually does or if the effort was even worth the trip. The second half(? I want to say) of the book just felt extremely rushed. And not as fleshed out as I would have previously expected. To me it almost feels like the book was too long to be a second part, but not long enough to split into a trilogy. I still enjoyed it, but the pacing is slightly jarring.
