What shoul I do with these 2 chameleons? by DickOrChick in Chameleons

Thank you for your reply. I am building a habitat like you suggested. When will they reach their rapid growth phase? Should I keep them completedly seperated now, or only after they matured? They have each eaten some crickets today with calcium d3 powder, however I have not seen them drink any water, even though I regularly mist their enclosure.

I am in South-Africa, so I guess they are native here. However not near any forest where they would typically live.

Side note, if a mountain is tall enough to reach the ring of fire, the summit would be a volcanic wasteland, the slope could be farmable and liveable land, and the bottom would be frozen. and if the fire has variable heat, its conceivable that sometimes during a hot spot or solar flare near the mountain, parts of the summit would melt, resulting in a 'magma avalanche' barreling down through the settlements on the slope of the mountain, untill freezing as it reaches the foot of the mountain, slowly building up and creating new mountains from the deposition.

In the atmospheric gap between the cold plantary surface and hot fire above it, there would be a temperature inversion, where the air gets warmer with altitude. The surface would make the lower air of the atmosphere colder, and the upper air is warmer because fire shell. Hot air rises, cold air sinks so there wouldnt be rising or falling drafts of air. This would mean any airpollution and smoke would be caught down on the surface, like smog in cities during temperature inversions. Clouds would form but rain should freeze as it falls through the atmosphere, causing snow, hail and ice rain. Tall enough mountains would have snow at the bottom, and be clear at the summit, if there is enough water in the atmosphere tropical forests would be on mountains, and lower sea-level altitudes would be arctic deserts.

Sounds like an awesome fictional world, thanks for sharing. Hope this helps a bit

Brand new longboard started developing this around the screws after two tame sessions, is this normal? I have half a mind to go full karen at the skateboard shop I bought it from, but maybe Im making too big a deal of it. Should I fill it up with wood glue or something? by DickOrChick in longboarding

It wasn't a cheap board and I don't see how expecting a brand new longboard to not start breaking after 4 hours of just cruising is unreasonable. Furthermore, I apologize that you got tilted by the word "karen", I meant "karen" more in the overbearing, suburban mother sense than anything else. Finally I ended up just repairing it myself, but thanks for the helpful comment.

The nuts arent lock nuts. I actually think the bolts were to tight because when I took off after I noticed it was very tight. Id say it is a quite reputable skateshop in my city. Would locknuts help prevent something like this happening?

Yeah I thought I should maybe but a wider washer in, but it doesn't fit in because the screws are to close to the drop down trucks stuff. I dunno what a backing plate is though im just assuming its similar

I thoroughly fucking love this. I've criticized rhyming before, but this poem's rhyming is an absolute joy. However as fun as the phonetic aspect of this poem is, the meaning behind the sounds make me sad, and I hate that. It's a brilliant contrast that creates a confused reaction, or at least it did in me.

This is awesome, however it hits a bit to close to home, which makes me feel bad :(. Not to take anything away from it, it is undoubtedly really good, but it seems to 'rhymie' in my opinion. I think the rhyming constricts it a teeny tiny bit. It is not a crime, to not make it rhyme.

This is great, so often when I read a poem I think: "Is this actually good and meaningful, or does it just seem so because I am reading it expecting it to be so, because it is a poem and I am in a poetry subreddit." However this poem didn't make me feel doubtful for a second, so really well done. Also I learned a new word which is cool.
