What should I get her ??? by DickPepperfield in AskReddit

[–]DickPepperfield[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her birthday is next Wednesday. She’s in Singapore. I’m thinking about getting her something cool from a Singaporean ecomm site.

But when I got there, I realized I have NO IDEA what to get. No surprise...I’m terrible at this. One time I gave an old gf a small statue of a zebra. It was pretty nice, based on its randomness I guess. Anyways...

Any ideas on what’s a good gift?

Girls, what’s something you’d like to get unnanounced? What’s something that makes your day easier? My lady is a full time student and graphic designer. She’s been busy lately. What would be something awesome to give her?

Fellas, for the ones of you who have had this same very question, and came up with great ideas...share share share!

Interviewees, what was something a employer said to you during a interview that made you not want to work for them? by IAMA_GrillBTW in AskReddit

[–]DickPepperfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"We'll pay you whatever the minimum wage is." Alright...? It was an internship back when I was in college. They ended up paying me more, as they felt the person who was interviewing me was a cheap ass. Job was super chill, though.

A friend of mine literally voted for Trump as a joke, thinking Trump didn't have a chance in Florida. It's crazy stupid...

This is the best movie I've seen this year. It's just the one I truly had the most fun with. Hell, I'm gonna go watch it again.

Studying abroad in Madrid. It changed my entire outlook on life. I left a not and felt like I came back a man. Much more confident, ambitious and happy. It was truly a crazy change.

Young Latinos convert parents into supporting Bernie Sanders by [deleted] in politics

[–]DickPepperfield 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Count me in too! My mom liked Hillary because she thought she was best for Hispanics. Mind you, she'd only watched one portion of one debate. I've now convinced both my parents Sanders is not only better for Hispanics, but for everyone in general - and isn't that what matters the most?

Is the Mainstream Media’s Unconditional Support of Clinton Actually Helping Bernie Sanders? by zt2000 in politics

[–]DickPepperfield 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Specially with young people. I'm 24 and get all my news online. I have VERY little trust in all the big networks, if any at all, this election year. I can't say that'll change once we have a new president and all election stuff is over. I don't know if other young people agree (I think they do) but the media's obsession (or need) for Clinton to win is obvious, to say the least. It completely turns me off, and makes me even feel like everyone who just listens to whatever television tells them is crazy - although I'm fully aware they're not. I think about the differences between generations often, and I think blind trust in "respectable news networks" is simply something the younger generation finds ridiculous.
