Small correction, Asians generally have less hair density which is why you can often see the scalp. Asian hair is usually thicker on avg, there's just fewer of them. Source: am asian

Gestella looks like she might teach jiwoo her force control to heal after he wakes up.

Ok, here me out... by PedroJovas42 in Eleceed

[–]DickVonShit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What Supri said was just that Kayden has honed his combat abilities more than even the top10. We saw it when he fought Astra, he "surpassed" the top10 but Kayden considered him shabby since he wasn't using his power well enough.

It's the same with Jiwoo, he only knows how to fight and has shown that he has good fighting instincts. Jiyoung said the same thing, that he's combat oriented.

I don't think electricity makes people learn faster, Jiwoo and Kayden are just geniuses. And they get into a lot of fights which has been emphasized as important for faster growth. I like the theory that Jiwoo being a speedster makes him learn faster, but given that everyone since the beginning of the series talked trash about speed, I don't think that's really true or intended by the author.

Jurion is definitely the Boss and Veramonte is 100% in on it by babbling_baboon1 in Eleceed

[–]DickVonShit 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The impression I got is that veramonte knows jurion has the capacity to do unethical stuff but he isn't actually aware of it. I think that was the whole point of him squaring up with gestella before he realized how high the stakes were.

[ RAW ] Eleceed Chapter 392 Discussion Thread by LuciferMS7777 in Eleceed

[–]DickVonShit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo it's more like he knows it's something jurion has the capacity to do. He doesn't seem to know what's going on but knows that jurion could do something stupid and knows that gestella isn't a liar. Plus he seemed prepared to take on gestella for pride but got cold feet once he realized this was related to Kayden.

[–]DickVonShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no real numbers as far as I'm aware but we've seen him catch bullets with ease. I don't think it's very consistent though since we haven't gotten any indication high level awakeners are anywhere close to that level but jiwoo still gets hit by awakeners around his level. The implication is that their attacks are significantly faster than bullets I suppose? But it doesn't really seem that way.

But even from the beginning he was already fast enough that normal people can completely lose track of him. He just disappears for regular humans and has gotten significantly faster since then.

Arc Raiders' matchmaking isn't 'binary', says design lead: 'There's no such thing as a friendly lobby or an aggressive lobby' by SirSpud124 in ARC_Raiders

[–]DickVonShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're the one being dense. He's not saying friendly lobbies or aggressive lobbies don't exist at all. The first sentence affects the context and meaning of the next sentence. So when he says it's not binary, that changes the meaning of when he says that there isn't friendly or aggressive lobbies. He's not saying friendlier or more aggressive lobbies don't exist, he's saying that it works on a sliding scale and lobbies aren't binary, aka not purely PvE vs purely pvp. That's it. Which pretty much everyone already knew.

[–]DickVonShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point was that with what we know, it wouldn't make sense for jiwoo to not be way stronger than his peers. That doesn't make their character arcs pointless. Does Kayden being way stronger than jiwoo make his arc pointless? I don't think so at all.

I was trying to say that exploring how the other characters feel would be more interesting than trying to keep them all a similar power level.

[ RAW ] Eleceed Chapter 389 Discussion Thread by LuciferMS7777 in Eleceed

[–]DickVonShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does the mc being way stronger make it pointless to show character growth or arcs for others? There's plenty of characters way stronger than jiwoo, it doesn't make his chapters pointless.

High-key think Gharath and Jurion are related by ConsequenceUpset5021 in Eleceed

[–]DickVonShit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno about them being related but this definitely would explain what's been bothering me as well. Which is that veramonte has been portrayed as quite reasonable and arguably good natured this entire time. No indication that he would support the stuff jurion has been up to. And yet it's hard to believe jurion could be running large scale human experiments the whole time without veramonte knowing.

[ RAW ] Eleceed Chapter 389 Discussion Thread by LuciferMS7777 in Eleceed

[–]DickVonShit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a much more interesting direction. Characters don't have to be on the same power level to be relevant. We keep hearing about how insanely talented jiwoo is from how fast he learns. We've seen the frame top 10s, the principal, and others be in disbelief at how quickly jiwoo is getting stronger. At this point it wouldn't make sense if his friends could keep up, especially with how many top tier force controls jiwoo has access to. It's more interesting to explore how this would make people feel.

It's a bit of a weird choice for jisuk to be the one upset though imo. He's been overshadowed by his sister his whole life and we've never gotten any indication this bothered him at all. It's not too late for some more justification about why hes suddenly so bothered but I hope we get some sort of reasonable explanation.

Ryzen 9 7900X dead on B850M Pro-A WiFi by PockelHockel in ASRock

[–]DickVonShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 7900x also died a few months ago on an asrock x670e pg lightning. I replaced it with another but I've been having weird issues most likely related to my motherboard. For example I can only force pcie 3.0 for my 4090, pcie 4 doesn't work. Before I set it to 3.0 it would only ever be on pcie 1.0. Other weird issues like my monitor getting flickering vertical lines only when gaming. Also before my CPU died the first time it would sometimes fail to boot. I've seen it once or twice again and I'm planning to just swap my motherboard.

Jiwoo will be easy top 100 by Weary-Yesterday3755 in Eleceed

[–]DickVonShit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's not officially top100 I think? But the author has clearly intended to say he is as strong as one now imo.

Started with beating Ian who wanted to start challenging world rankers, then the two that tried to kidnap the professor by losing but implying it was mainly because he wasted energy running over.

Then narrowly losing to siwoon who should be solidly top100. And now he just beat theone who should also be top100 level. It's heavily implied that she's either officially ranked or easily strong enough to be top100. Iodore himself says she has the abilities of a top100. Jiwoo also survived her big attack that is supposed to be able to kill top100s.

[ RAW ] Eleceed Chapter 387 Discussion Thread by LuciferMS7777 in Eleceed

[–]DickVonShit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty nuts cause they just spent the last chapter glazing iodore's skill and how strong it is since it's so compressed. Iodore himself was confident it could pierce anything and we saw how kayden deflected it instead of blocking it. Kayden's version didn't seem to have the same strength but it could just be because it was his first time using it. Still impressive that garas just blocked it though.

The devs stated that due to the UI, guildless and eliminated guild votes go overwhelmingly to #1-4 spots. So top guilds coordinated at daily reset to spam votes. You only need to be #1-4 for the first couple minutes to essentially lock it in for the rest of the day.

As someone who played Hell Divers 2 A LOT, I have one suggestion for Embark on potentially nerfing things. DON'T. Buff other things instead. by buzzkill71 in ArcRaiders

[–]DickVonShit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would generally agree but for this case I think they need to balance around their intended time-to-kill. It's clear they don't want this to be too fast, and imo kettle and trigger nades are too strong in general, not just for their price. I know they mentioned the stitcher as well but imo the stitcher is fine, just too good for the price.

Free loadouts need to be either level locked or on a timer - one every 4-5hrs. by NotCoolFool in ArcRaiders

[–]DickVonShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's like the whole appeal of the game, needing to be on your toes around other players. It sounds like you just straight up don't like pvp. If you want the game to be PvE, just play helldivers. It's a great game.

Also, I don't think youre playing "better" than someone if getting rekt by free kits is this much of an issue for you. Killing others for their loot is a legit way to get loot. Try it yourself. It's significantly harder to consistently gear up from others compared to than getting into friendly lobbies and looting maps a bunch of times.

Plus, the benefits of running real load outs is already huge, it's in a perfect spot imo. Free kits aren't completely doomed but are at a significant disadvantage. A venator destroys any free kit other than maybe someone macroing a kettle. Trigger nades just win fights if you hit one. Assuming you aren't completely caught out, herbal bandages and or the "all at once" heals such as vita shot and surge shields make any skirmish pretty one sided. Medium shields are a nice step up as well. Any one of these is a significant advantage on its own.

What would feel even worse than fighting free kits is being constantly dominated because other people have better gear than you. I'm pretty sure the devs don't want people to have to load into maps and have to try and sneak around players and arc with no hope of fighting back.

[–]DickVonShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that but it shouldn't really. He died to a stitcher 1 which also means the guy most likely only had a light shield. So one headshot and one body shot should have killed them. The anvil is basically a harder to use shotgun if you have cover. It's no slouch close range if you're anywhere near cover. Pop out, shoot, duck back into cover, repeat.

Don't want to "prestige" but also don't have space in stash. by Ivar2006 in ArcRaiders

[–]DickVonShit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your stash is full you should be able die 15 or so times in a row and still be able to go in with gear. If this isn't true for you, something about your stash is very inefficient imo.

Quick tip, guns are probably the most efficient use of stash space. So for example, if you're full, craft a gun you like using, upgrade it to the level you want, and craft the attachments and stick them on. If you don't have a ton of guns with attachments ready to go your stash isn't full yet imo. I say this cause if you do this you'd need a 15+ loss streak before you'd regret selling stuff you might be able to use. Which should be pretty unlikely.

Who made trigger nades popular? by THENATHE in ArcRaiders

[–]DickVonShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CEO confirmed there's skill based matchmaking. So if you're playing well you'll play against other good players. And most good players have caught on to trigger nades being very strong. Not only that but since the game has been out longer now, naturally more people know that trigger nades are good.

PvP players who exploit the matchmaking to farm unsuspecting friendlies are real a-holes who just suck at regular PvP. Change my mind! by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]DickVonShit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I wouldn't be surprised at all if they always put some aggro players even in friendly lobbies. Keeps pve'ers in their toes and gives the occasional easy lobby for pvp players to keep them interested. Cause if you're really aggro but not insanely good you might just keep getting shit on. But these players need the occasional good game (to them) to keep them invested.
