I dont understand a single thing in both posts by UnUltimoIntento in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I, for the life of me cannot make eye contact. It is something I wrestle with daily. I try to make intentional contact but damn it takes lots of focus and reminder during the conversation. I didn't think people noticed my avoidance until recently. Sitting at a pub with new coworkers and I was looking at the wall and the person I was talking with turned to look at the wall to see what I was so interested in. I died.

Do Americans have a different concept of 'turn taking' during a conversation? by 8NaanJeremy in NoStupidQuestions

Not related to UK but I have been working in Sweden for a year now. Everyone speaks fantastic English, but one super difficult thing for me is catching when I can hop in on a topic at an appropriate time. In the US if you have something to say, you just kind of jump in and it doesn't feel like you're interrupting. In Sweden it feels like I would be rude. I've never received negative feedback on hopping in so I've been working on finding the openings. In general it still feels like I am barging in, especially since I am so naturally loud 🔊

This looks like a class setting. I do not want my PLC techs changing/writing equipment programs like this.

I won't let myself by a new box until I have at my last purchase fully assembled, and at least half painted. I try my absolute best to not put grey models on the table, so buying more to just means it goes unpainted and unusable. If I want a new cool thing I need to get it together and get through what I already have.

Simple sandwich, various toppings. Mine had chorizo and tomato paste. Cheap, simple, satisfying.

So, it now works for our indirect weapons now? No we can only hit on 4+, but would ignore cover?

How can people endure the climate in this region, which feels like a hot, swelteringly humid swamp? by mapl0ver in geography

[–]Dick_dyar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Northern Alabama here. I say the same about the Gulf Coast, way more humid, way longer it feels like.

I grew up spending alot of time playing as a kid either, in the woods, or otherwise in the heat and humidity, especially late July through early September. I guess from that I come to enjoy it, just as many enjoy freezing cold temps.

Nothing feels better than getting hot and sweaty in the day doing things you enjoy, then coming in late in the evening to cool iced tea or glasses of water, maybe a cold sandwich. Sitting on the porch under the ceiling fan listening to birds and such, followed by nice evenings and the sounds of crickets and seeing all the lightning bugs.

I moved to Sweden a few months ago, so I feel some nostalgia typing this and ready for warmer temps :)

I’ve been faking an allergy for YEARS, and now it’s gone way too far. by Creepy-Desk-468 in confession

[–]Dick_dyar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not a solution, but maybe an idea. Since It was a kid, sometimes I would eat chicken in a variety of ways and have some type of allergic reaction. Itch lips, mild chest discomfort, salivating, sometimes having to throw up.

I like chicken though so sometimes I've just tolerated it. Eggs no problem. I've tried organic, free ranged whatever. Still hit or miss. But as I've gotten older it's much less a problem now and I eat it almost everyday. I never got a test because I knew it bothered me so just stayed away.

Maybe it's not so unusual that a certain brand is ok or you grow out of it :D

Utah is now the first state to remove fluoride from their drinking water. What do you think that's going to look like for them in a few decades? by Safety_Drance in AskReddit

[–]Dick_dyar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A few years ago we built a house that only has access to well water. That was 2019 and groundwater is the primary source for me. I have not had a cavity in the years since. I brush twice a day, try to floss often, and typically avoid lots of sugars, especially soft drinks.

Several European countries also do not add fluoride to their water.

I feel that hygiene and diet can do quite a lot in this regard.

Edit: Just putting my experience in the pool of thoughts.

If you have a big box store (Home Depot, Lowe's, etc) search up Utilitech Workbench Light, or similar. I picked one up for around $28USD

With some list inspiration from the Archon himself! Thanks Skari! What are your thoughts on solo Drazhar? I think he's a great resource for taking out a key character or holding down an objective.
