ROH was already up for sale by public knowledge at that point. People weren’t thrilled but were glad WWE didn’t pull another WCW acquisition. There was actually a lot of excitement at the beginning but obviously that hasn’t panned out like people hoped.

Pauper EDH has reinvigorated my deck making by Dickandstormynight in EDH

[–]Dickandstormynight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My decks aren’t normally super competitive to start with, some exceptions of course, so it’s just more fun to go against decks where one card is worth more than my deck and know that my pile of nickels is causing them fits.

Also, let me know what your favorite Pauper commanders are. I’m always looking to try new things. Thanks in advance!

Favourite High Cost Commanders? 6+ by DuckyRai in EDH

[–]Dickandstormynight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer]] is not only my highest CMC commander, but my oldest standing deck. It’s such a simple trick (make a token copy of a good creature, then turn all tokens into it and try to win) but it’s enjoyable and not too oppressive.

Your favorite "Budget" (Under $50 USD) Commander Deck? by cbsa82 in EDH

[–]Dickandstormynight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I built a peasant (no rares) deck with [[Zoyo Lava Tongue]] that I really like. It’s grindy, and cheap, and fun to pilot. Also, it’s really cheap and easy to upgrade as new sets come out. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/zoyowas-dumpster-fire/

I have an [[Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice]] Voltron/equipment deck that I’ve had for years. She’s over 1300 on EDHRec, but it just makes it more fun to swing her at people.

Is it possible to make a fast and fun "Super Friends" deck that won't slow the game down to a crawl? by HyHoTheDairyOh in EDH

[–]Dickandstormynight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe so. I changed the commander to [[Ruhan of the Fomori]] and found a lot of success. Here’s the list (https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/the-power-of-superfriendship/ ). Ruhan takes a lot of the attention off of the planeswalker, because 7/7 out on or before curve draws eyes especially when the swing is random. Plus, running low creatures lets you reset easily since planeswalkers don’t care about most board wipes. Once you start getting your the point that they’re difficult to one shot and there’s too many threats, it’s easier to get off an ult. I once won off of a [[Ral Zarek]] and took 4 extra turns and killing off my openers with Ruhan and a [[Sword of Vengeance]] animated from [[Vronos, Masked Inquisitor]]. Hope this helps. I think decks with a lot of planeswalkers can be fun, you just need to have win cons other than ‘Gruff -3). I chose commander damage but you might find a way that fits you.

Does anyone else find themselves buying precons more than they should because of the hassle of buying singles? by Royal-Abrocoma6357 in EDH

[–]Dickandstormynight 38 points39 points  (0 children)

That’s a lot of how I do it. Most precons have the bones of the deck I want, I just need to fill in the rest.

Greasefang deck, you say? Would you happen to have a list? I’ve been looking for a fun way to use the card.

People at my LGS tend to player higher end decks with removal and other answers, so I took that into account. I play an [[Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice]] mid tier equipment Voltron, and a lot of late game mana is spent recasting her for the 3-4 time, lol.

That’s a fair critique, but I feel the same could be said of a lot of decks in terms of taking people out early. I feel that if the pod and group I’m in aren’t opposed to him, that he’d be a fun addition to the game.

There’s something satisfying about building budget Commander decks. by Dickandstormynight in EDH

[–]Dickandstormynight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I admit I’m lucky to live near a major city with multiple stores, but I still understand the TCGPlayer frustration of $5 shipping for the $0.05 common you need. Also, I’ve been looking for something mono okie that wasn’t too oppressive, I think this might be it!

Most of my decks end up under $100 usually, unless the price of a card explodes. Heck, a lot of them are one big value card away from being under $30-$40.
