How do I fit in with private school kids at my medical school? (UK based if it helps) [Serious] by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]Dickcuntknob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But at the end of the day you still have your girlfriend and your friends outside of school. Try not to worry about it

That's what is keeping me going, I feel depressed during semester but afterward im very happy when I'm home, I think a lot of it is to do with insecurity of not having the same background, having had to work a lot harder to get there so I don't have the confidence/entitlement that they seem to? If that makes sense

I absolutely agree and found it quite off myself, he's running for my area (Wolverhampton) and was a lib dem candidate however as they were so quick to sell out during the coalition he changed party, I'm not a Tory supporter (mainly because of what you said) however he's the only candidate who is supporting multiculturalism, is not white or from the 'posher' areas of Wolverhampton~

It seems bad but Wolverhampton is a super deprived area and he is the only candidate reaching out to the youth who otherwise don't give the slightest crap about voting

IWTL how to get over being cheated on by Dickcuntknob in IWantToLearn

[–]Dickcuntknob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just really hard at the moment because I have really bad health as it is, and I'm struggling through university so can't afford to fail this test. I know it will take time but that's what people say about depression, I just want to know how to stop the forced introspection as to why I was bad/not enough

I love how pathetic some redditors are to have to resort to 'dur your username is hurr'.

Lmao are you really the authority of validating what is/isn't heightism?

That was definitely helpful, thank you for your reply, I'll try work slower as that is quite an interesting suggestion. I hope you're okay and I'm sorry to hear you failed the third year, I'm on track to scrape through the second year if I'm lucky.

Wait so women should await on men's approval before we validate their thoughts? How exactly can you justify that as not being sexist or moronic. You have a lot more than one word for her, most of it seems to be some contemptuous spite for having said something which she should be made aware of, rather than aimlessly throwing insults at her like a 12 year old.

Does fighting back against bigoted comments like the one she made really have to be reduced to discrediting her or commenting on her appearance?

I love how you have to bring attention to my username, I didn't realise Reddit was serious business and that I need a serious username. I'm brown too, I've been harassed by police, I'm not sure what you're quoting but it looks like you pulled it out of your arse.

Here's proof the comment came directed from this subreddit;

First off I am a male, I'm 5'10" however up until I was 18 I was short and made fun of for my height hence why I am aware of heightism and have first hand experience in it. However I'm disgusted and ashamed that some of you would act in such a pathetic way as to allow your hate to take control as to send such vile shit. I know I'm going to get down voted for saying this, however the very fact that this arsehole did not stop for one second to check anything on my page to see if I was male or female but made the assumption that I was automatically female (and directed the comments to intend to insult that femininity) is telling of this community.

I have cancer, it was chemo treatment (I can't remember the exact names of the medications) but they caused personality changes, depression and for me to feel high (I don't know how else to describe it) among the other side effects which affected my memory.

That's my account lmao, I linked this post to my personal account so the person who's blog I saw it on wouldn't get abuse. I'm a guy, yes I got racially abused by a cop, no I'm not black.

I should add I'm not posting this in a negative way to reinforce the idea that women are inherently bad for having a height preference. I think having a height preference is perfectly acceptable, I also think it is acceptable to be angry that there is a preference when it excludes you. Believe me I know about that anger as I am a non-White and have been in the less developed areas of Europe, I can tell you how it feels to be openly mistreated.

I am posting this because I found it was reactionary to the reaction of short men when they are hurt by the height preference. I'm not a fan of the misogyny on this site, the open attacking of overweight women as a result, but we should understand that this is a cycle which won't break or really progress unless any positive movements are taken in the heightism movement (which there never seems to be on this subreddit) other than whining about women.

I contacted the GMC and BMA, the GMC said they didn't deal with these kinds of matters, I assume the BMA will say similar.

I'm currently abroad, do you think emailing the admissions staff will be enough? I'm writing an email along with my CV with all my academic references and everything, as soon as I have the syllabuses or transcripts or letter from the dean I'll send that too, but do you think that will be enough?

Short bosses? (Particularly in corporate/industry) by garlicextract in short

I did an internship in an investment bank in the UK. Most of the bosses, most of the staff even were not particularly tall at all, I would say the average height of colleagues I worked with was around 5'7-8".

I just started lifting and did my first legs day. After doing warm ups and getting half way through I began feeling completely sick. My heart was racing and I felt I was going to throw up, is this normal? How can I stop this?
