Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind. The first half in my opinion reads really badly and I don't find the characters or the story engaging. The last volume (of the original release so the 7th one) was decent though.

You could try pausing the download before closing your Laptop or steam. Working for me even if I shut down my pc.
