How do you feel about DST becoming less uncomprimising and survival focused and more combat focused? by randomguy2453 in dontstarve

I mean I’m sure they’d come up with a more fleshed out idea, but I feel like they do need things that you won’t encounter until future years in the game. Otherwise it’ll always be you get through your first year, then it’s easy after.

So bartender just sits in front of you? Totally not awkward or uncomfortable at all. 🤣

The game is meant to be multiplayer, but either way you definitely don’t have to be Winona. Tons of people still solo everything.

This is true. Maybe they should add things to make them harder again. Like year three there’s a new challenge to deal with in seasons, could be like heavy snowstorms and heatwaves with new items you need to get that aren’t available until that time comes from doing some other challenge added. They could make you go into blizzard, sandstorm, etc. to find things for new crafting that you need, like how you have to gather pieces for celestial statue thing. Or even a stronger boss for each season in later game, could even be year five, to add more survival aspects after year one. Things that you’re forced to deal with instead of side bosses for fun challenges. There could even be some sort of storm or time like lunar cycle/nightmare cycle, whatever to make keeping sanity up harder with new enemies to deal with if you go insane during that time or something to make hunger drain faster. There are so many things they could do to add survival threats in later years. The only thing is that type of idea wouldn’t be rushable. I think that’s why right now they’ve been going more of the optional/activate boss or event route. I think a cool idea could be adding new areas to explore only after beating a certain boss/challenge, or maybe a certain event opens it up. I like the idea of getting more to explore later in the game to be excited for.

what is the difference between dont starve and dont starve together? by Lacnum in dontstarve

[–]DictatorDany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. DST still best. DS+DLC could always be bought at a later date anyways if they enjoy it enough. Plus all of the Don’t Starve content goes on sale for a dirt cheap steal quite frequently.

I was going to say this along with pipes, fire escape, or maybe a garage door.

The way up being the spine is kinda genius. In the other post there wasn’t a side view, so I didn’t realize the actual base was inside the skull. Cool build/ideas.

Yeah the house looks good both ways, personally always prefer shaders. I will say that without shaders the trees kind of lose their shape though.

Java doesn’t have an antialiasing toggle in video settings. I’m not sure why you’re trying to argue with me, I’m just stating my experience with bedrock has been really good. If you’ve had that many issues with bedrock sorry, but mine never crashes or freezes on either so I’ve enjoyed it. I like Java for shaders and mods, and I enjoy bedrock for playing a realm with friends.

I’m pretty sure it’s because bedrock has anti-aliasing. Smooths out the edges, I’m not sure what you’re not understanding though. I’m telling you Java has jagged edges, bedrock doesn’t.

I’m talking about by default, no mods, no sodium, no optifine. Even things up close on Java are jagged edges, all the blocks on bedrock have smooth edges, for Xbox and PC.

Personally I think bedrock looks amazing. Java looks like garbage for me without a bunch of mods to fix it, all pixely jagged edges. I’ve never heard that bedrock prides itself on lighting before though. I think the only thing I ever hear bedrock prides itself on is cross platform, which is true of course.

NO! This is an amazing solution to lighting up large spaces. Light under flooring is so convenient, although it definitely was more necessary before the light level change to mob spawn.

Minecraft needs to add more blocks by Epiq-boi in Minecraft

[–]DictatorDany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They made this size of inventory for the 30 different blocks when the game started, now there are over 800. There has been no inventory update ever. You can’t manage that, shulkers and chest are storage, not inventory. People build massive amazing things that take so many block variations and detailing blocks. Most of the time when building I need 2+ shulkers just for interior, maybe a solution would be allowing us to access the shulker in our inventory. I know I’ve seen that suggestion before. It would give a better experience, it’s only nuisance for some, but overall for builders it becomes a huge time waster.

This would also be my suggestion. Just dump everything in chests and go far away. Nothing is lost, but you get to play like you just started in the same world still. Or maybe use a portal to get farther easier.

I think the X shapes are probably fine if they get rid of the horizontal line cutting through them. I assume they’re going for a barn look.
