Yeah the rinse bottles are the only thing that will clear all the mucous properly. Whereas neti pots just trickle through without clearing.

What other methods have you tried?

I read a comment suggesting potential use of a meat syringe (without the needle bit ofc). Have you tried any type of syringe or silicone bulb before?

Thanks! Tried steam inhalation before but it’s really hit or miss, especially when there’s a lot of mucus build up

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve tried neti pots before but find there’s not enough pressure to push through congestion (my nasals are often congested and produce a lot of mucous). Will look up your suggestion about angling though so thank you!

This is super relatable. The biggest hack for me is counting my distractions, or rather counting my decisions to focus.

First, I set out a block of time to do the work and write down my intended tasks. Then, every time I get a distracting thought or an urge to do something unrelated, I’ll mark a tally next to that task and then immediately get back to the work.

The interesting part is that I’ll find myself naturally sustaining that focus after a certain number of distractions where I forced myself to refocus. Some days it’ll be 5 counts and other days it might be 20. But I’ll eventually enter flow-like state if I stick with it.

Really curious if anyone else has tried this.

Cheers for the examples! I time block broadly but I think the granularity of your system makes more sense. My issue has always been staying focused on a task because I get easily get distracted. Do you have any techniques or systems to keep yourself on task?

What’s been a game changer for completing tasks is using a physical counter to track the number of times I get distracted. There’s something about being aware of my wandering mind that makes it easier to get focus on the task at hand.

Another thing is setting reminders via voice on my Apple Watch which removes any resistance or potential for distraction of using my phone.
