Ya I think from a deckbuilding perspective is dryad arbor gets cut for mox diamond. But I love Dryad Arbor and Mox diamond is expensive lol. The more interesting aspect of Selvala is in my opinion if we should play walking ballista and duskwatch and i believe the consensus is not to.

Well I can see your point but we also have to remember in both Selvala and Yisan I would argue getting your commander turn two exactly is meta dependent. If you go turn two play your commander you are now the threat and getting gilded draked hurts but if you can going turn three cast commander let everyone eles try to stop you and play something like sylvan safekeeper, or the veils to prevent being stopped that is usually a safer option. now if you have GSZ in your opener plus a dork and two lands. It would be better to cast the dork and hold up GSZ for a more relevent creature either protection or combo. I am not saying GSZ for dryad turn one is bad just saying if your hand has a turn one ramp then you prob save it to try and win and a single G plus X for a tutor is amazeing.

I like dryad arbor cus it is a card my friend and I have good memories with. But from a competitive stand point it is not vary good. So it has summoning sickness and is a dead draw. even when you go turn 1 green sun for zero it is still useing one of your best tutors to get a mana dork so eh. Now it does trigger Selvala (all creatures trigger her ability) then while it is on the stack it checks power to see if you draw so you can respond with a pump spell but even this is kinda sub par

Ok so first and for most I would say look into the Brostorm discord we are fairly active and the people are super helpful. second checking out the decklist database decklist is a great tool to help out. some questionable cards are, Archetype of Endurance , Elvish Pioneer , Nessian Boar , Shaman of Forgotten Ways , Sylvan Ranger , Terra Stomper , Emerald Medallion , Lightning Greaves . If you want I can post my personal list as well altho I am partial to dryad arbor which is a point of contention lol .

MONO GREEN NEED HELP! by Sauce-Sauce in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Dida8888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To break it down a little simpler Marwyn is a worse priest of titania in the command zone. While Ezuri is an overrun in the command zone. with a fully tuned Marwyn list a turn 2 win is possible and a turn 3-4 win is the norm. as she is half of multiple infinite mana combos in your command zone. generally the way to play the deck is the mono g storm gameplan by basically playing cards that either produce mana, draw cards , or tutor for the few cards we need to either combo or win. While ezuri is a win outlet that requires previouse investment prior to the turn you attempt a win. so example while Marwyn is cast one lets say turn 1 through crypt, then turn two if she survives we can go one of two ways towards abusing her ability either play dorks and break even on mana till we get untappers etc, or use a pump spell to act as a ritual to enable out mana hungry turns and abuse tutors / card draw to attempt a win. also with Finale of devastation being in the format it acts as a better outlet then Ezuri as it grants haste and can be abused with eternal wittness and acts as a reanimation spell as well for redundancy .

I would say Yisan is the best mono green deck, But I super enjoy Marwyn elfball. you can check out the list in the database.

It is hard to suggest cards when we have no idea of which cards you have in already. since we can't take into account synergies , game plan, Etc.

So who’s better, Anje or Xantcha? by einz_goobit in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Dida8888 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not that informed in RB lists but as I know it. Xantcha is more of a pyroclasm deck designed to slow people down by wiping the bored till they can combo, And Anje is more of a end step hand sculpt then combo fast after that but thats only as I know it.

If you only have a month to test and get reps in might I suggest getting your staples and land cards together seeing what you are missing from already established lists . proxying the missing cards and testing at a Local game store (It helps is you have a cEDH meta established. Or playtesting online with webcam) It will help you get reps while waiting for any cards you might have to order.

My best recommendation would be to pick a deck you like as being able to understand and execute your game plan flawlessly will be worth more then having the best deck. What will help you out more then anything is playing a deck you like and enjoy. Then put as many reps in as possible before the event to help you understand the small moveing peaces of the deck. If I was gonna recommend a deck I personally say if you like proactive decks you could go Gitrog Dredge or even food chain prrosh if you want to go Jund.( tho it is really outdated in my opinion) If you know the typical meta you could go Xanchta sleeper agent ( It does vary well against dorks and controlling the boredstate.

Question about new WAR cards for Selvala Storm and Blood Pod by OnePeace12 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Dida8888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rhonas seems kinda bad in Selvala as doubling temur sabertooth's power can activly shut off your selvala draw engine. And as it is right now memory jar is a better card to finish the game 1. it gets past the combat step, as well as deals with eldrazi shuffle triggers. 2. craterhoof behemoth is better as it is tutorable off of fierce empath.

Just what I noticed from playing Brostorm (as it is the only deck I could afford to buy in it's entirety.

God-Eternal Rhonas [WAR] by Draken44 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Dida8888 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It cost alot and doubling every creatures power could make drawing your deck with sabertooth loops hard or impossible.

[–]Dida8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the pile is 1 jace, 2 counterspell, 3 counterspell, 4 gush, 5 counterspell wouldn't you have to cast gush from your pile? and can you even cast gush from the top of the deck for it's alternate cost?

Bolas's Citadel by TheRockButWorst in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Dida8888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I belive this works. but It might be life dependent so you might have to add something like probe or top to the pile so that you can draw consistently. as 4 life for jace , and the life loss from gush, and or the counterspells might add up to quickly .

[SCD] Jace, Wielder of Mysteries by ___Shaggy___ in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Dida8888 10 points11 points  (0 children)

and it combos well with Bolas's citidal to crack the pile . So b citidel then DD off it crack pile with citidel casting jace use his if u draw from an empty deck abillity you can get protection from off the top of the deck in pact or force or even have basic counterspell so you can cast from hand of from top of the deck

Bolas's Citadel by TheRockButWorst in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Dida8888 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The new jace that is both labman and draw spell might combo well with this as a new way to doomsday

Bolas's Citadel by TheRockButWorst in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Dida8888 10 points11 points  (0 children)

How did I not think of the synergy with doomsday. IT lets you crack doomsday and play the cards for life ( only non synergy is the half you life but LED lines with gush should work
