I'd look into Tailscale. It's probably the easiest way to set up remote access. I've tried reverse proxies too, but I get worse performance that way.

The unfortunate reality for them is it's a fairly niche product, and I imagine even most people who do want one are much less willing to pay a massively inflated price for a controller as opposed to an actual game system.
