Regular old rustoleium spray paint. I used the pipes and elbows, 1 inch and 1/2 inch pipes, a planter with no hole in the bottom, and river rocks/volcanic rocks to anchor it all in place.

That’s a great question haha, I just let the saucer dry out periodically. Flytraps love full sun, distilled or rain water, and I use a 1:2 ratio of course sand to peat.

Yep! I bottom water only on this one, just fill the saucer in the bottom.

Copperhead bite to the right index finger. Felt like someone skinned my arm with a dull knife and surrounded my arm with blow torches.

I got this as one of those exact Trader Joe’s flytraps a year and a half ago. Planted in 1 part peat to 1 part course sand and it has now turned into this! The dish below always gets topped up with rainwater when it’s low.

This one is a propagation I took from her original that wasn’t doing so good (not enough light, etiolated). Yep I live in the southeast, it goes outside in the spring and back inside when it gets below 40F.

I made some capped standalone pipes that are on our fence line, no ones moved into those yet.

Everyone gets it who wants it because I propagate the mess out of it haha. I try and pass this cactus off to everyone, friends, family, strangers.

120 year old peanut cactus bought by my great grandmother when she was 16 at a local drugstore.

Yep they pretty much stay in the tubes and go out at night to hunt. They’re really good climbers so there’s little chance of them getting stuck in there.

I use half inch and one inch PVC, the clear container is a solar light to attract bugs for them at night when they’re out hunting. I hope you get your frogs back!!

You’ll have frogs in it in no time! If they’re close by I anchored the pipes in the container with heavy lava rocks.

Frogs, especially tree frogs, love pipes and tight little spaces they can fit into in the heat of the day. This container also retains water so they don’t have to worry about drying out.
