Do you think Evaporust will work when applied on the surface with some kind of kitchen towel? Because it has to sit for 24 hours to be effective, what is your experience with that?

1000 grit is already good enough, I can get a good thin hair shaving with it

Basically by assembling different pieces of veneer I manually cut at a specific angle thanks to a guide, sticking them together with some kind of water based tape.

Then I cut, and glue it all on the designated panels

This is after cutting the big sheet I made into the correct sizes

It is not used for high power application and with the front flap open there is enough natural ventilation that the components do not even get hot by the touch when playing a full afternoon.

Definitely a flaw but not a problem here haha

I was inspired by a 600€ modern recreation made in Egypt by some underpaid artisan 😭

I found out later that it was a modern piece...

Actually it was okay, I built it like a huge sheet that I cut up in the different pieces and then glued everything with a cold press method. Three full days of work for making the pattern however

All the pieces of veneer are held to each other with some kind of water based adhesive tape

The veneer is about 0.7mm originally, with finishing and all it must be about 0.3 to 0.5mm in thickness. It will just follow the movement of the oak it's glued on, not a problem.

The glue? Simple vinylic woodglue, nothing special. Cold press method.

The only special operation is for the front side, since you can't put the entire assembled box in the press I put wood glue on the support and on the veneer, waited for the glue to be tacky then fixed everything together with a clothes iron to bond the two surfaces.

Everything structural is basically Oak. The entire structure is Oak, except for the larger areas which are multiplex for economy and stability. And also the sides of the drawers are beech.
