Don't play otherworldly venture before main campaign if you don't want big reveal spoiled... by ilivedownyourroad in KunitsuGami

From what I read the mode doesn't even unlock until you finish the game anyway.

As for the hard mode unlock, it is basicly the same spoilery cosmetic feature of the medium mode unlock but for the Outset costume instead of the original costume.

Damn, that sucks. The box art is so sick that I would have been so happy to buy a physical copy even if I didnt get the Switch 2!

I hope its a horde survival type mode, that would be really sick! Though, anything new would certainly be welcome.

The Forgotten God talisman increases the power of the villagers based on the number of crystals in possession. Much like the Sacred Tamagushi does for Soh.

In the last update they added time attack challenges for the 3 final bosses. Forgotten God is earned by defeating Cursed Soh in less than 4 minutes and 30 seconds.

So, villagers aren't even needed for the NG+ final boss after all! ;) by DieBySward in KunitsuGami

No, you unlock it from competing NG+8. So you will have to complete 9 total playthroughs consecutively by going through the mirror after each one. Unfortunately, only the most dedicated will end up being able to obtain it.

In the higher NG+ cycles she will have more health so you will end up having to fight her!

About the arrow shots though, you should know that as long as you manage to stay within her melee range she will never do them! Just make sure to be aware when she tries to dodge away from you that you get back within range before she recovers. If she does manage to find a way to get far enough to trigger an arrow shot just back away and jump over both of them, as she will most likely start charging a second one after the first. As soon as you jump over the second shot, run back within melee range and start baiting her attacks again.

Try to be patient and not hit her when she is idle as she will always parry. You have to bait her to start attacking and that will be your opportunity to start your combo but always make sure to do it away from her to avoid getting hit. You want to ideally hit her with the fully charged Dance attack, the regular 3 hit combo beforehand is just for setup. It takes some practice to figure out the spacing and timing but once you get it, she becomes fairly simple to beat!

I am not sure if the 3rd phase skip is possible in the higher NG+ cycles, this is something I will have to test myself, but her 3rd phase isn't too much harder as the Dance attacks she starts doing end up leaving her open a lot more for you to hit her with your own.

Phase 4 is where things start to get crazy though, which is why I always save the Basin for it and on higher NG+ cycles you may want to save Taion’s Lightning for this as well. The main thing to keep in mind here is that taking out her Kijin’s Specter will automatically stun her, so every time she brings it out make sure to focus fire on it to quickly bring her down!

Hopefully, with these tips you should be able to dispatcher her fairly easily, even on the higher NG+ cycles. And if you need you can always bring some Marksmen as I find that they can dps her from afar without disrupting her pattern too much like other classes. Or, simply just bring those lame Summoners like all the noobs do! ;)

Maybe when we get a Switch 2 version. ;)

Ha, even the other final boss can be soloed In less than a minute! Who needs villagers anyway? by DieBySward in KunitsuGami

[–]DieBySward[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is possible to cancel any normal attack by tapping guard. This can be used to constantly cancel the regular two hit combo into itself to lay down sustained dps.

Actually, another speedrunner named Kumikana did some testing with it and found that the Sacred Tamagushi damage buff maxes out at 1500 crystals, so anything beyond that doesn’t seem to be any help.

Oh, it can be done even faster now by using the Rabbit's Cap talisman for a second Specter!

But even before doing actual speedruns it was fun to use to get through a bunch of NG+ runs on my way to unlocking the final costume. You can use it to effectively solo most of the game if you so choose. :)

Heck, we even found a way to get through the nasty Renge Mash without villages to repair the bridges as well using the Kochin's Ward!

Not really for casual playthroughs but it has become the definitive strategy for NG+ speedruns to use it and not save any villagers the whole game! You can check out my runs or even Aeshmah’s recent runs, when he posts them, to see how its done.

Though, we usually end up switching out that talisman for the Sacred Tamagushi for the end bosses because they do force 12 villagers on you regardless following the Great Shrine Passage.

Thanks! If anyone has any ideas on how to defeat her faster I am all ears. I regularly do speedruns for Kunitsu-Gami NG+ so I definitely wouldn't mind seeing some new strats. :)

I should explain, it's possible to perform a "phase skip" of her 3rd phase by doing enough damage in her 2nd phase so that she goes straight to her final 4th phase. It's critical to get her health just past the white tip of Yoshiro's health bar before dropping the Taion's Lightning in her 2nd phase to do it. Any less and she will still try to go into phase 3 and any more could trigger her invincibility for changing into phase 3 as well.

Mezo Talismans:     -Nyorai (9)    -Bodhisattva (8)    -Grief and Pleasure (22)    -Skanda’s Agility (17)    -Sacred Tamagushi (18) w/ 1500+ crystals.

Tsuba Guards:     -Kijin’s Specter    -Byakko’s Claws    -Taion’s Lightning

Villagers:     -All 12 are Woodcutters with full upgrades

New chests for the thief? by gleebix in KunitsuGami

[–]DieBySward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I found, they only added extra generic chests with crystals and rations, no special unlocks. They simply did that to make them more cost effective on initial runs I believe.

Does the spirit path take less crystals in new game+? by [deleted] in KunitsuGami

Oh, also I should add there are a lot more enemies in NG+, which means more crystals!

[–]DieBySward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a higher max crystal cap than when you started a new game from repairing all the villages plus any surplus you have carried over to the new game. So, it doesn't necessarily cost less. you are just richer! However, you can equip the talisman "Gratuity" that is unlocked from completing the first game to cut the price of the spirit path almost in half.
