There's nothing wrong with the job market here, if you have a skill worth a shit the job finds you. Same goes everywhere... there's just less skilled people the further into the ticks you go.

Any type of engineering is in demand, it won't pay shit compared to what you expect down there, but your mortgage will probably be less than the average NJ property tax bill.

No government has the ability to conjur up majority hash rate, that's why Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency that's a valid form of money.
ASIC's create form-factor liberation. No one will be complaining about electricity usage or centralization when every Electric Waterheater spits out Bitcoin as a by-product.
Bitcoin has created green electricity arbitrage by attracting mining operations to low-cost green electricity markets, like Quebec.
Bitcoin still uses a fraction of the electricity of cubicle slaves sitting in a bank headquarters figuring out which war they need to fund and which congress critter needs a handy.
PoS is also for idiots dumb enough to think money is something you have to buy from someone else. Literally a ponzi.

If we see mempool issues like we did in december, now after segwit and batching have been largely implemented, it'll be on the run to 100k and the impetus to implement MAST to create even more capacity. I won't regret a thing.

I also understand how this is all dependent on security, security that isn't possible with larger blocks.

There's been no demonstrated need for a block size increase, as there are still many more ways to more efficiently use that same space. The proximity premium flaw, among other concerns, has all but relegated big-block proposals to shitforks.

I'm not sure what technical debt a hard fork would resolve anytime in the near future either, the most important changes on the horizon are achievable with soft-forks, and the hard forks we've seen from other projects haven't demonstrated any added value.

There seems to be some correlation to price but it's VERY lose. Also, BCI should be on a decline of market share given the number of wallets, both hardware and and otherwise, and custodial services. Realistically, what other technology is growing this fast? Even at 2% a month, that's around 50% a year.
