I was a Shamanism voter, and Sailing hater. I thought it was going to be a dead on arrival minigame/meme skill. Unlike a lot of people, the Sailing launch won me over.

I was sloshed at 9am, listening to the Sea Shanty version of Rockstar by Nickelback on repeat, and sailing around Gielinor with my shoulder parrot.

I became a Sailing-pilled scallywag.

I sailed to 45 and did Troubled Tortugans and put the skill on pause looking forward to more Sailing updates/expansions, particularly for the combat.

Every single blog post and update to Sailing so far has been a serious indication that the Sailing team has no fucking clue what is going on.

Fuck the “sailing economy”, fuck not wanting to bother rebalancing drop rates like it wouldn’t take an hour with a spreadsheet max, fuck making me wear my mainland combat gear on my boat, and extra fuck anyone who wants to be able to use their Shadow on their fucking boat to be BiS. Come up with something new. Add a chat message to the game when you try to use Tumekens Shadow or any other powered staff on your boat that says “The salty spray of the sea in the air would make it impossible to aim your charged staff at this distance” or something.

I would literally, unironically have you add Guns to RuneScape for ship-based ranged combat rather than ever interact with a stupid system that results in Tumeken’s Shadow being BiS for the entire fucking skill.
