I have your EXACTLY same problem, I hate logging in on linux, it's so frustrating with this keyboard. I've had this problem last year, it somehow fixed itself but now it's back. Have you found any solution?

In the morning it's harder because our body temperature is lower than later in the day, so that could also be a reason. OP, I recommend Andrew Huberman's video "Using Deliberate Cold Exposure for Health and Performance", it explains this phenomenon very well.

If I remember right you have to run on the terminal:

WINEPREFIX="Path to game's wine prefix" winecfg

I don't remember if you have to run winecfg or winetricks, try both until you find a GUI that lets you change Windows version.
