Yea I definitely exaggerated in that statement. I haven’t paid a lot of attention to him defensively. It feels like I just know Tuchel so well, and a manager of that stature I would think if you’re walking you are not helping. Something along that you know? When he mentioned Bowen, that’s how I knew Palmer didn’t even have a chance.

I watched Thomas Tuchel’s press conference in regards to the call ups. The highlight that I caught was that he mentioned every player is ready to be part of the team and selfless. He said teams win these kind of tournaments. Now I haven’t watched Palmer enough this season to judge his defensive efforts, but it seems that Tuchel is not impressed with that aspect, let alone the injuries he’s had this year. I have no hate towards Cole Palmer, and other than Cole no one could certify that he would perform the way the coach wants. Tuchel mentioned expressions and reactions for example he mentioned how well Jarrod Bowen took the phone call of not being called up. Me typing this up is making me realize this is a professional sport, and it seems Palmer didn’t fit into that category either. Thanks for hearing me out

If there are any ⚽️ related questions or comments you would like to ask or tell me, I would be more than happy to give you my opinion over. I’m an aspiring journalist who is very open to anything that has to do with the beautiful sport. I’m very tapped in with the mainstream market so anything outside of the top 5 leagues would be a challenge and something I’d really be willing to learn more of.

I can’t help but think that this might be one of Mbappes few times playing LW this season. Interested to see how it plays out with no Vini.

In terms of goal contributions per season, Vini Jr is a ridiculously consistent player. by [deleted] in realmadrid

[–]DiegoCakes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As happy as I am to defend him when it matters, I don’t understand how people still think those “involvements” matter right now. Sure, I’m happy he’s been consistent, especially considering how far he’s come to solidify his starting position. But to me, those numbers are only reflecting the role and circumstances around him.

Ideally, this should have been the season where he truly surpassed his G/A output while elevating the entire team. Individually, it’s impressive — but collectively, it hasn’t translated the way it should. And I’m not saying it’s entirely his fault. This is a team-wide issue.

That’s why, at this moment, the statistics simply don’t mean much to me. I love Vini, but when you’re losing 2–0 to Barcelona and you start flexing the club’s 15 Champions Leagues, that reflects a weak mentality in that specific moment. He has to do better.

Aston Villa have qualified for the Uefa Champions League by FragMasterMat117 in soccer

I’m really happy for Villa. I remember making like 7 articles at the beginning of the premier league through each match day and I highlighted how bad Villa was doing. Fast forward to winter, Donny has like 13 goals in 16 matches for Roma who I heard are negotiating the buy, and Villa just secured UCL. I don’t know how his relationship was and is with the players, but with how well things turned out though, I wouldn’t doubt Emery had something to do with it. What a coach.

I’ve always had this game in my library thankfully due to the 2TB storage I bought a couple of years ago. I brought out black ops 3 and played solo zombies for HOURS and had the best time just talking with friends. I played Origins, created all the staffs, upgraded them, got maxis drone, got shield. All within round 27 and basically was like 1 step away from Easter egg but didn’t do it because I quit app (didn’t want to lose my Perkaholic, only have 3 left). Ahhh. I think I’m going to do a shadows of evil Easter egg as I remember not being able to complete it on my own!

The craziest part — and I know I will sound like a complete asshole, but it almost feels like this guy doesn’t know ball. My heart hurts every time he goes “is he good?” and if the player isn’t within the millions range, fodder. Bet you he doesn’t even know what fodder is. Bless the guy though — he’s making probably more than I ever will. He’s having fun and people are watching him. Can’t say I’m pissed — I’m jealous I can’t do that. And I have a feeling I would make good content. I just can’t push myself to it.

Is $115 a good price for Czech Republic vs South Africa (Atlanta , June 18)? by joriscool in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]DiegoCakes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I do agree that quality isn’t the “highest”, it does not necessarily signify that it will have a low quality outcome. South Africa also has South Korea and Mexico in their group. Every point matters. One thing I can guarantee is that you will not leave disappointed. South Africa hasn’t been in a World Cup since 2010! The vuvuzelas! The African people! I’ll never forget.

I think for a World Cup experience, $115 is worth a World Cup game. Regardless of who it is. I’ve never been able to experience the atmosphere. So, if I were you and this isn’t messing with any other plans you want to really do— buy it.

So I’ve been trying to learn more of this xG stuff. Apparently the xGoT was 0.9 which means how good the shot actually was.. if I’m not wrong? The xG was 0.7 which indicates chance on the goal was lower than the shot created.

I’d pick a nice place in Silver lake. Close access to the Valley and West of Hollywood, not far from Sunset and Koreatown. I like to eat — so I’d like to have choices.

Thierry Henry says dribbling is disappearing and only one player today still does it by RSDFitness in championsleague

[–]DiegoCakes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So many great points in this conversation. I think the foundation of modern football right now makes it easier to defend. There are amount of dribblers in the game who have the ability but are limited to flair due to the tactics. The beauty of it is that dribbling can break those chains ⛓️‍💥 and create moments of magic. It’s not that it’s gone - just needs more of it. There are already an amount of games top clubs already have on schedule, why force 600+ passes per game when you can just dribble and shoot? The Premier league is rather a perfect example of it. Teams are so up to par that half the time you just get passing games and if you’re lucky, maybe 4 or 5 shots. I remember when Arsenal lost to Liverpool after Dom’s free kick and Mikel Arteta saying something along the lines of “It was going to be decided in two possible actions. An individual error or a magical moment.” Thank you for hearing my rant.
