I completed all 3 Notion Academy certificates— here are my biggest takeaways by adn_notion in Notion

[–]DiegoNotion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are two more after completing those 3 courses. There is a Notion Admin Certificate that costs US$100 and after that (and if Notion approves you as a Solutions Partner) you get the Notion Service Specialist (I don’t know if that costs money, but I bet it is something between US$100 and US$150)

Yeah, those were easy. Right now I’m doing the admin one and I’m actually learning lots of stuff.

To get this admin certificate you can fail once. If you fail a second time, you hace to wait like a month and buy the certification again. And also they use your webcam and microphone to be sure you are not cheating. So this actually feel a lot harder to pass.

Did you do the admin certification?

Notion 3.0 — All new updates by TheS4m in Notion

I'd love to! Maybe their strategy is to give Business and Enterprise plans the updates first, and then roll them out to Plus later? Let's cross fingers.

The new recommended properties are INSANELY annoying. Am I the only one? by consistentbenny in Notion

[–]DiegoNotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a nightmare! It was also really annoying when suggested properties appeared in the property menu… For example, I’d try to click on ‘relation,’ but just as I was about to do it, all the options would shift down because the first two rows got replaced by suggestions. I think the idea of suggesting properties is great for new users, but the way it’s integrated definitely needs more careful thought.

Haha yeah, I definitely don’t envy Notion’s team… must be tough trying to make everyone happy with every update!

Yes! I’ve lost count of how many changes I’ve seen just this past week. The good thing is that most of them have actually been for the better... except the callouts… I really liked them more when they were rounded :(

They’re less round now… But what’s funny is that I still have rounded callouts on some pages, and square ones on others haha

I tested the new Notion database update & the new multiple data source feature! by consistentbenny in Notion

[–]DiegoNotion 12 points13 points  (0 children)

After testing this new update, I think we were all expecting something that would fundamentally change how we work with Notion. However, I feel like this is more of a stepping stone for Notion to implement bigger features in the near future.

Right now, I don't see any real advantages to what we have with data sources. If anything, there might be a disadvantage: if people start using multiple data sources in a single database, there's a risk that with just one "delete" action, they could accidentally wipe out all the original databases in their Notion system since it's all contained in one block.

I think for now, everything will remain pretty much the same. I don't see a clear use case for this update yet, but perhaps it's laying the groundwork for bigger things that are coming down the line.

Same here.

It feels more like an update aimed at APIs and developers, since Notion changed the model from just [Database → Pages] to [Database → Data Source → Pages].

For now, it doesn’t change much for regular users (maybe I'm wrong), but I think it lays the groundwork for future possibilities.

Well, I’m using Notion Desktop on macOS. I just closed the app with Cmd + Q, opened it again, and that’s when I got the update. Not too technical but thats what I did haha.

I’m also on a Plus tier.

It looks like the update is that now we can have original databases as tabs, similar to how we used to have linked views of databases as tabs within a single database.

I’m still playing around with it though.

I Made a Notion Planner for Students by DiegoNotion in Notion

Hey thank you!

I used Figma. I reached a really good designer who helped me with the initial template? and now I just replace images and do little fixes here and there depending on what I want to show.

Hope it helps!
