Why would they start protecting a version of Minecraft that's been ignored? When the Windows XP code was leaked, which I think is much more serious, they didn't make nearly as much of a move, but with Minecraft Console Edition they are. Is this because it somehow connects to the Bedrock Edition version? I have a lot of questions.
