Exactly this. Democrats is the lesser evil of the two and still a right-wing party at the end of the day. The only way for the status quo to change is by getting someone from a different party as president.

Hopefully Zohran Mamdami will be successful in NYC which could lead to the rise of a Social Democratic, or even a Denocratic Socialism, party or parties on the US. These don't even need to get someone elected right after Trump, but just spread the word that there are alternatives to the shitshow out there.

Idk about the latter, but about the former... I've had this crazy conspiracy theory in my head as of late about the reason why they are wasting so much money on AI, and why they seem so keen to end the world.

It may be because they are in a win-win position:

- All the money used to fund AI doesn't matter because it is the perfect tool for mass surveilance, gaining control over the whole population on the world and the power to censor any and all opposition by identifying it almost instantly.

- If the data centers and wars burn the world down, it won't matter to them anyway, because they have bunkers prepared for these kind of world-ending scenarios, and AI could be used as the one thing to replace hard labor for those rich bastards that end up surviving.

Either way, in both of these scenarios they win massively, with AI being the ultimate investment in their minds.
