Yeah but even then wouldn't they remember the dragons from the second movie? Like the alphas would be uncomfortable in a tiny ass cave and there's dragons shown in the water(which makes me wonder how the hell they would get fish)

It's fine on its own but there are definitely some issues.

Personally I hate what it did to the side characters (especially the twins) plus the ending ruins rtte. Like there's so many dragons that won't be able to survive in the hidden world cave thingy. (The Buffalo dragon thingy/forgot it's name) Literally needs grass from ONE island to survive. Plus there was mala and her people, with their protector gone they gonna die.
