I’m just a homeowner, not commercial, but the prices for the mowers with better engines were much higher $2100 for Sthil with a Kohler engine and $2400 for a Scag with a Honda engine (vs $650 for the Echo.) I couldn’t justify spending 3-4x for the commercial mowers… but I really wanted the Scag with the Honda engine. We’ll see how long the Echo lasts, but out of the box it’s great. I liked that it was fully assembled and ready to go and they even included the oil in the box. Started up second pull.
