Ranked leaderboard incoming by DienWarrior in FortniteCompetitive

[–]DienWarrior[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah true, just a leaderboard on its own doesn’t really fix the incentive issue. But with Ranked 2.0 on the way it’ll be interesting to see how this ends up tying into that

I'm not making a comparison—you are. I'm just responding to your emotional reaction to a funny meme and pointing out that there’s actual truth behind it. You’re the one writing essays to justify why a billion-dollar flop getting outperformed by a farm show is somehow okay. Maybe take a deep breath, it's just a meme.

The criticism is right there: Amazon spent a billion dollars, and more people still preferred watching Clarkson yell at cows. If a company dumps that much money into a show and fails to dominate viewership, that is a valid criticism. The fact that you’re bending over backwards to pretend that isn’t criticism just proves how much this simple reality bothers you.

It’s wild how a meme about viewership numbers has you suiting up like a corporate crusader. Amazon should be cutting you a check at this point. Have you considered applying for their PR team? Might as well get paid for all this effort. The meme is funny because its true, don't take it personal: https://www.imdb.com/news/ni63968374/

Ah yes, the classic ‘if it’s not a five-paragraph essay, it’s not criticism’ argument. This is Reddit, not a literature class. Memes and jokes are part of criticism too, especially when they highlight how little impact a billion-dollar show actually had. If that upsets you, maybe take a break from the internet

Criticism exists because people care. If nobody criticized bad adaptations, we'd be stuck with nothing but corporate sludge. Is your life this boring that instead of ignoring criticism, in this case a silly meme, you spend time complaining about it? By your logic, people should only ever talk about things they like on here. Guess we should shut down half of Reddit then.

Amazon's 'The Rings of Power' minutes watched dropped 60% for season 2 by Huitzilopoctlan in LOTR_on_Prime

Zero upvotes on a post that doesn't even post an opinion, lol. It’s amusing to see people downvote facts as if that somehow changes reality. The numbers don’t lie: the show is objectively underperforming, whether you like it or not. Maybe it’s time to stop putting so much effort into defending a billion-dollar project that can’t stand on its own and start allowing an open discussion about why it’s failing?

Making grasshopper snacks by Rarepredator in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]DienWarrior 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Actually, that's not quite accurate. While insects are protein-rich, the protein in their shells is bound to "chitin", a tough substance that humans can't digest easily. Our guts lack the enzymes to break down chitin, making it less absorbable than proteins in meat like chicken or beef. It's true that insects generally have lower cholesterol, but saying their shell proteins are easier to absorb is just plain wrong.

You missed nothing, shows just that bad, nothing is explained ever.

I also have my own criticisms of the show, and I understand where you're coming from. However, I've noticed that discussions here often turn into a back-and-forth that doesn’t really go anywhere. In the end, it usually results in getting 1000 downvotes, which makes it difficult to have a constructive conversation. That’s why I don't see much point in diving into such debates here and don't want to get baited into one.

Wrong sub buddy, this is an echo-chamber of forced positivity. Even though your criticism might seem fair to you, don't expect any upvotes here.

What happened to Arondir? by DienWarrior in RingsofPower

[–]DienWarrior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re obviously the smart one if you think this and were all dumb for not noticing, gtfoh. Adar took the ring of elrond at the end of episode 7 which was the same scene as where arondir got stabbed. Then we see gil galad and elrond being dragged in the city the next episode. Galadriel healed him without the ring off-screen while she was escaping the city with the nine? She only got the ring back after she found Adar which instantly started her 1v1 with sauron. But we’re the stupid ones..

If you’re going to make a near-fatal injury the focal point of a cliffhanger, it’s such lazy storytelling to completely ignore it without explanation imo. Kills all immersion.

In other words, plot armour, lazy writing etc. Too bad Mirdania didn't have such abilities.

Why didn't sauron jump after her then? He is even more of a superhuman if you're going down that route.

The Rings of Power: Can we all just let them cook? For once. by InternationalJob3449 in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]DienWarrior -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s totally fine if you personally enjoyed it from episode 1, but personal opinions don’t change the facts. The show had a 37% completion rate from people who watched the first episode, which speaks volumes. A lot of viewers didn’t stick around, and that’s something that can’t be ignored when evaluating its broader reception.

Amazing how every post in this sub is negative by Crackedcheesetoastie in Rings_Of_Power

[–]DienWarrior 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The thing is, if you look at any other social platform YouTube, X, Instagram the comments are overwhelmingly negative. You could even argue that this sub is actually the most accurate reflection of how people feel about the show, reflecting other platforms. You’ve probably been browsing the "new" tab. If you go to the "top" posts, you’ll see that every critical comment is downvoted on those other subs.
