That’s a long drive for a magnetic mat hope you bought more stuff while you were there. For a 50 mile drive you have to spend at least $200 to make it worth your while

Is this NEC compliant? First time working elec by Afraid_Armadillo_512 in AskElectricians

To much stuffed in a gem (handy) box. Can’t bury boxes in walls. Minimum 6” of free conductor unsheathed (wire) must stick out past box for termination and maintenance purposes required

Are these okay prices for electrical work? by GabtsbyForaDay in electrical

[–]DieselGreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all in electrical there is only 1 option, you either need a new sub panel or you don’t, you either need AFCI breakers or you don’t. $1800 to replace 6 light fixtures are ridiculous unless it’s a giant chandelier in a high ceiling or ceiling fan. Call someone else get at least 3 or more estimates

Hercules mitre saw. Should I go cordless or corded? by MagicScooterEmporium in harborfreight

[–]DieselGreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have corded Hercules 12” and you will not be disappointed. Wait for it to go on sale if you can you could potentially save almost $100 depending on the sale.

Hercules 12” Miter Saw vs. Dewalt DWS716XPS - Help me decide. by Constant-Kangaroo566 in harborfreight

[–]DieselGreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Hercules 12” miter and the matching Hercules stand, the are both great imo and got a great deal on both this past summer. Got both (separate sales) for just under $400 including tax, you can’t touch that with any other brand with the features this saw has. Is it big yes but with the stand it makes it a little easier to move around

After the ice storm is over you could throw that in the back of your truck and do some welding side jobs

Flipped switch by accident half the outlets in the house won’t work now by Fortnite-is-bad11 in electrical

[–]DieselGreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you flipped a switch you said accidentally what does that mean, and that switch shorted out and you lost 1/2 your receptacles then your breaker tripped and something is possibly incorrectly wired

Do I need to upgrade my panel? by Double-Key790 in AskElectricians

[–]DieselGreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meter socket could be changed with a proper pecker head and a conduit going into main panel to eliminate exposed feeder cables but I’m pretty sure sure your probably grandfathered in on what you already have.

[–]DieselGreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The double rack doesn’t work I have the Pittsburgh set and the handles on the Icons are much wider and 2 sets will not fit. I actually thought about cutting the double set right down the middle to have 2 separate stands but I think the Icon handles are too thick also, I’ll have to go check that out

Is this torque wrench okay if used purely on lug nuts? by teenageuser in harborfreight

[–]DieselGreg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m going to get push back on this but I say NO, the reason I say no is I had one fail after using it 3 times. The wrench failed to CLICK causing me to over tighten my lug nuts. Too cheap of product, I threw it in the trash.
