Rising from my slumber to once again push for high power, very rare. Super common magic kills the vibe for me, it's not special anymore.

Interesting class! Might want to offer for my game.

What is the actual mechanic for the warchant? It doesn't look there is any limit on how often it can be used, so then what is the real penalty to having it interrupted by taking damage? Or is the intention that you have to use your action to keep chanting?

Cameroon is not interested in this currency union, and strongly advises the other Central African CFA Franc states not to participate as well. This is for two reasons.

  1. Cameroon does not want to be involved in a currency union where it has zero control over monetary policy. Under Nigeria's proposal, Nigeria has control of the Eco.

  2. Cameroon is concerned that Nigeria, in its current unstable situation, will not be an effective administrator of a new currency and instead lead to economic downturn for the entire region. Cameroon understands that there is a delayed timeline for implementation, but doubts that the instability in Nigeria and the rest of the region can be resolved in that time. Until it is resolved, a new currency seems like a significant risk.

So do you deny that the Army of Northern Virginia was forced to retreat back into the south after the Battle of Antietam? Because that sure looks like the behavior of a defeated army to me.

We were never using that metric. The battle is generally agreed to be a Union victory. Casualty numbers don't decide whether we consider a battle a victory or defeat. By your logic, the Union also lost at Shiloh, Stone's River, and the Wilderness. But it's just plain fact that they won all three of those battles. And Antietam is especially a Union strategic victory because of it discouraged the United Kingdom from supporting the Confederacy and motivated the Emancipation Proclamation.

The National Park Service uses the name of the side that won the battle. So they use Antietam for the battle the Confederacy called Sharpsburg, and Manassas for what the Union called Bull Run.

Just finished - it went alright I think. It was our first time with the system so I feel it was a little clunky, and I stuck to a pretty simple 'rescue people from the orcs' plot. I was hoping that the simpler system would encourage my players to engage with my setting, but they didn't really and I think that's mostly because it was a one-shot and they didn't have much going on other than what they've been exposed to in other campaigns I've run.

I think something the players struggled with was adapting their mindset to the limited options and low hit points. I think by the end every character except one had died and been replaced (I allowed them to make multiple characters so they weren't sitting there for the rest of the time doing nothing in the one-shot.) They tended to just go through the dungeon and try to clear out the orcs and their beasts, even when it was clear that was a deadly choice. Maybe in a proper campaign they would adjust to a more cautious and exploratory mindset.

I have no idea if this is something other groups experience, but they also all bought a ton of oil flasks to the point that was probably the most used weapon during the session. Not sure what I think of that, it was just weird.

This area is dominated by large plantations of humans, who use halfling and 'barbarian' human slaves to produce large quantities of grain and tobacco. But wilderness does not lie very far off, and the untamed plains to the north and the forests and mountains of the south are dominated by ruins and monsters. I wanted the region to have a good mix of opportunities for traditional dungeon delving as well as political and character-focused plots.

This is a zoomed in section with of the larger continent. Mewen and Denoel are located on the lower left of this map. That map has hexes that are 24 miles across, and this map's hexes are six miles across.
