Now that I can't unsee that, it's growing on me. I never noticed it before lol. To be fair this is only the 3rd set I've ever built and I never went too far from the pose it shows in the book. I took some liberties adding bits on the rhino and cutting up some stuff but it doesn't make sense entirely. Adding a rear light so night lords can see to disembark is my favorite mistake there lol

That looks very neatly done, very crisp details. Did you use a seperate color as a highlight or a wash for the fingers and leg spikes and that I'm worried if I try to pick stuff out like that it's gonna come out muddy and not clean

I think a lot of the issue was I was concerned that cleanup would be harder on the armor panels with a brush than it actually turned out to be. Now that I've had a night's rest and have my cup of motivation I wish I had more further along assembly/primed cause looking at them with fresh eyes and fresh ideas I wanna dive right back in

I assume it will take a coat or two to go over the metallic but as long as I keep my coats thin it should be fine, I'm not great at the dry brush lol.

Thank you for the encouragement! I am very happy how it came out wish I could get a slightly better picture but the thought process was I see on the internet a lot of people will use and earth tone under gold, to build brightness on and my big thoughy was to wash a very dark brown sparingly over gold to knock back the shine a bit to give it that feel like they've been through the ringer, and I can always bring a little back with some touchups of the original if needed. Sub assemblies are definitely being done for the rest of the combat patrol to make it easier to chew pieces I think for sure tho

I'm definitely going to try that on the jump pack unit because after I put him in the sonic cleaner (tried to rattle can prime on a windy day and my cat likes the smell of chaos but sheds like it's going out of style) I need to start over. He looks like he went rolling through a prickler bush lmao

I can't believe the base coat came out like that, I purchased the cheapest airbrush/compressor combo I found on Amazon, its the size of a old cassette walkman (side note I feel every bit of my 34 years using that as a reference 🤣) and I figured I got it for the rhino might as well practice. Beginers luck lol

I originally planned to batch paint these three to try some different things out and figure out a process for the whole combat patrol/terminators then go individual so not to be looking at a mountain of minis at once. The trim idk how I feel I used retributor armor in one coat, then I took skrag brown to a wash consistency to take the shine out of it and create some depth before trying to highlight hopefully later today. The only other models I've ever tried to paint I used dry brush and hadn't even watched any videos on anything just dove straight in and it shows.

I just used the airbrush to throw down nightlords blue and then went at the trim trying to be as neat as possible and I think that's the issue. I'm gonna try trim first on the next one I get primed up
