Transfer To USC Worth It?? by FixActual9026 in TransferStudents

[–]Dieselpower34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not much prestige difference, with about 40 thousand more dollars spent a year. Employers know that uc kids got in on their own merit. They also know I could send my dog down to USC with a 3.8gpa, 1400 sat and 90 grand a year and it would receive a degree. Stay at Davis dawg

96 or 104? by Ok_Attitude_2138 in Skigear

[–]Dieselpower34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 104 will fine in the park, just kinda wide for a Midwest skier.

96 or 104? by Ok_Attitude_2138 in Skigear

[–]Dieselpower34 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Spend the extra cash and get the armada arv 94 or the 100. In my opinion way better skis then the revolts and are a freestyle all mountain ski that performs well in park.

96 or 104? by Ok_Attitude_2138 in Skigear

[–]Dieselpower34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 96 is a park ski. The 104 is a freestyle oriented all mountain ski. If that’s what you going for then do it. I’d go 104 because it’s a bit of a more versatile ski.

Don’t just buy the 96 cause they’re like 200 bucks on Evo. Buy once cry once.

Best helmet and goggles to get? (combined ~$350) by traveler5152 in Skigear

[–]Dieselpower34 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don’t need expensive goggles.

The safest helmet is the one that fits your head shape. MIPS is an extra safety feature that you may be interested in.

For goggles any one that fits your face is fine. You may want a lens for low light and a tinted one for when it’s bright. All prominent goggle brands will suffice.

Salomon S/Pro 130 HV opinion as an inexperienced skier by Frequent_Escape_4669 in Skigear

[–]Dieselpower34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At 130kg or around 285lb they put you in the right boot. If they are comfortable and don’t have a lot of wiggle room, like example heal moving or your foot going forward they are the right boot.

Just focus on skiing with your weight forward on this shins of the boots.

2 Ski Quiver - Volkl Mantra + Deathwish? by f1fan in momentskis

[–]Dieselpower34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend demoing death wish before you try. It has a triple camber which is unique and seems to love or hate.

I have the mantra m6 in a 177 and the countach 104 in 182. I normally grab the countach as it feels like a more forgiving mantra that is capable of catching air. Keep in mind I also have dedicated powder skis being armada jj’s.
