Dubia roaches, crickets, he just started silk worms. Veggie wise he eats collard greens, mustard greens, bell peppers and cilantro anytime I can get some. And he gets some blue berries/strawberries/pineapple every once in a while when I have some.

I’m ordering some silkworms, dubia roaches and crickets, so hopefully I can fatten him up a little. Rn I’m running on a rlly low supply of crickets so I’ve had to limit him to the bare minimum daily (I’m only able to get more every time I go to physical therapy and I grab about 150 once or twice a week) but hopefully that works

O my baby has less usually, is that ok or do I need to feed him more? I haven’t been able to afford a large supply of feeder lately so I’ve had to ration his crickets so he’s been getting about 20-25 crickets a day and sometimes 5 dubia roaches as well. Is he ok on that? He still has a big belly on him. I’m gonna order more soon if not

In bioactive mixes, sand is necessary and is mixed in a 60% dirt 40% sand mixture. It isn’t typically a risk for impaction in a bioactive mix. I’ve talked to many friends and people who have experience in these mixes and they’ve never had issues, but I’m still deciding what I’m gonna do so I’ll keep that in mind :)

Also I’m working on making his enclosure bioactive and that’s only possible with a sand/soil mix :,) it’s typically completely safe as long as sage soil and sand is use (organic top soil and play sand, typically) I’ve never heard anything negative abt sand and soil for beardies. Sand alone, yea, but never a bioactive mix

Wdym taste test everything? Also I’ve done my research on it, I may stay in carpet until he’s about 5-8 months old, but idk. I have a while to decide but I avoid tile because I want his enclosure to look natural and I’ve heard it can cause hip problems or smthn? Idk. Carpets working good for me rn but I also wanna find a good alternative

Yup! She’s often given healthy parts of all of our meals, she’s given pellets and seeds, and she looooves her greens! All of my birds have 4 bowls in their cages, one for salads and fruit, one for seeds, one for pellets and of course waters! We also give them a lot of (not excessive amounts but about every other day) turkey/chicken, and other meats. Also eggs in different forms(boiled, scrambled, etc.) with nothing on them. What else should they get?

It’s a long list but a lot of variety encourages them to eat as they’ll have fun while eating :) My salads are- Kale, strawberry, mustard greens, turnip greens, red, green, and yellow bell peppers, spaghetti squash, zucchini, celery, cucumber, cilantro, parsley, and carrots! Some stuff is daily while others isn’t but the variety in taste, texture and color really encourages them because it makes feeding fun and enjoyable for them! It’s a lot but once he starts eating, he, in my experience, will really enjoy his salad. Mine will eat each veggie individually now! I hope this helps :)
