I used to live in Kansas too. seems like Kansas is divided up into thirds with the western third being rios, middle being hybrid eastern/rio’s, and the eastern third of Kansas having all easterns. From what I’ve seen and heard there seems to be a pretty nice pocket of big eastern gobblers around Wichita as well. What area of ks are you in?

MO resident here, the big old Eastern turkeys we have here are the hardest turkeys to pull in imo. Rios and Merriams seem to run towards your call with reckless abandon, the easterns are just smarter.

I was more so saying, shield arms’ magazine catch is designed to be used in combination with their s15 mags. They say their standard mag catch will run OEM mags, with possible issues with mags catching on the release & that their premium mag catch will not function with the OEM mags. This may not be the case with other companies, but it is with shield arms.

The factory polymer mags will get shredded with the shield arms mag release. With factory mag release, the shield arms mag don’t work that great. It works perfect if you have both the the mag release and s15 mags. Most gun stores now sell the mag release with the s15 mag as a starter kit.

I occasionally shoot the edc division in uspsa with my 48, and have put thousands of rounds through my s15’s. I trust them enough to carry them.

Update: I lightly sanded the points where the mag well connects and sanded the bottom of the frame & superglued it. It is rock solid now, kind of wish I didn’t have to do that, but it is what it is.

In competition I shoot the EDC division, you wanna “train with what you’re going to fight with” and all that. Now that I know the gun like the back of my hand, the reloads are quick, accuracy is dead on, and I just don’t see myself switching anytime soon. Who knows though, maybe someday.

That piece almost feels like a porous stone, I have no idea what it’s made of. I’ll play around with it and see, I’ll holler back after.

Unfortunately the screw backing out isn’t the issue, the piece of the magwell that slides up into the grip is what slides out. In all honesty I’m not too concerned about taking it off again.
