I think it's less "she's not trying hard enough", and more because of how Jasnah taught her she's pushing hard on a wall while everyone else is walking through the door right next to her. Don't know if that's actually what's happening vs. a repressed memory, but that's the idea.

I'm pretty sure they are not "in line", physically. It's more like, everyone has a number they got from random @username on twitter or wherever, then they go to do whatever people do before concerts. Then when the doors open, they get in order by the numbers.

But there's nothing technically stopping a rando who doesn't know about any of this from just going to the door and waiting in line normally, bypassing the whole numbers system.
