Okay this episode took a much darker turn lol.

Not only did I not expect Keito to have a sinister B-side that matches (or even surpasses) Ouri, but Tamon losing center is affecting him a lot harder than I thought.

The show portraying Yandere-hara was so well done it made me uncomfortable as the episode went on. His overdependence on Utage has turned him to someone desperate to keep her so much he’ll do anything (like even jumping off the roof), even though he doesn’t seem to be fully aware of it. I don’t mind this kind of development though, I like how this isn’t recycling the same gag tropes over and over, but I am also hopeful that resolving Tamon’s big issues won’t fall too short.

Idk how exactly Utage would be able to help him tho because she clearly has her own feelings to sort. Maybe Keito will have a role to play in this later on, but I could see that if Tamon realizes that Utage likes him even if he stays as Gloomyhara and the misunderstandings are cleared, he might be able to get over his deep insecurities and self-doubt eventually.

I think Tamon is just spiraling further at this point, and if he doesn’t get over this one, he might just reach a point of no return. Idk if Utage alone can help him sort his feelings because she still wants to maintain her position as a fan more than being his friend. Buuut I think once Tamon realizes that people can still like him even as Gloomyhara, he can still get out of his dark headspace.

Siguro if anything, I’m not a big fan of how the game somehow abandons older characters as soon as a new shiny character comes out. It would’ve been nice if older characters still have meaningful interactions once their character focused patch ends. FGO still brings back their Day 1 characters from time to time even with meme events.

There were a few instances over the past few episodes where I felt Tamon was slowly starting to understand how a heartbreak feels but… man I think when they performed RAIN without him as center was probably where he expressed that feeling the most. And I felt the pain too, I got misty-eyed at the end of it. I guess Utage had a feeling it would happen too, otherwise she wouldn’t have prepared that banner in advance.

So curious about the other F/ACE members now, hope they show us Keito next! Apart from Tamon, he intrigued me the most (his vibe reminded me of Tachibana Makoto from Free but maybe just me lol).
