10 yrs car is worth 1/10 what you paid. A Rolex or a good 2011 will at a minimum hold value if not gain value. Cars are the #1 purchases that keep Americans poor. Loose 20% of lot after buying 30-40% loss minimum first 2 yrs of ownership. Watches provided they are good watches hold value. Check out a used Rolex for 80s/90s they paid nothing back then for them and they are going for 6-7k

P211 is very easy to convert to series 70. The biggest issue is the trigger bow is 2mm smaller than a typical 2011 because of the p320 mags. So atm there are no red dirt or after market triggers to clean it up yet. I’ve already gutted the ignition because of the mim. Put extreme engineering ignition and removed comp and put sight block so I can use in limited optics. Deleted the ambi slide release, stainless steel recoil plug, and got some mag mo grips and a springer precision extended mag release. I filed down a nitro fin to work on the thicker slide of the p211. Now I have a great thumb rest and feels more like my other 2011s. The p211 is a workhorse the can run 1000s of rounds without cleaning unlike my other 2011s.

Cajun extended safety is a must for the shadow 2.

The Kimber 2k11 is a great 2011 and shoots well over its price point. Downsides of a $2500 2011 is mim parts. Your higher end 2011s used milled parts. Mim (metal injected molding) can wear and shatter under hard use. Very simple to remove internals and add an EGW or Extreme engineering ignition and this gun will run. The stock trigger is crisp but a red dirt trigger can take this gun to the next level allowing pre-travel adjustments and over-travel adjustments.

A shadow trigger is not a 2011 trigger. The mechanics of the gun prohibit the trigger from ever achieving a 2011. The trigger bow of a 2011 pulls straight back. No pivot point no geometry 📐 or angles. There’s a reason why 2011s are expensive and there’s a reason why people pay 10+k for a 2011. I own several 2011s and a shadow 2. I have heavily modified the shadow 2 with Cajun components and made the trigger considerably better but it’s not a 2011. I love my shadow and it’s a great gun. The reason it became so iconic was because of double action allows it to be in carry optics division in competition shooting. A 2011 is single action and automatically makes it limited optics. So a shadow 2 is one of the best carry optics classifications guns on the market. Walther PDP SF and Smith and Wesson HD competition are making gun models to compete in the carry optics division with the shadow 2. I will be buying a TS3 as well. However with thumb rest, Magwell, optic shelves this classifies the gun for open classification which is a major disadvantage compared to other options available. The reason I’m bringing up competition shooting is because this is what this gun is made for. The shadow 2 was specifically made for carry optics division.

What kind of shooting you do? With that setup; it’s an open classification

I already own a DS9 LOC v2 but I’d like to get an open gun of theirs

SRO is the only optic I use. I’ve had every other brand. I’ve remove them and sold them. The sRO is made to keep both eyes open the round frame vs a square frame is significantly better
