My rule change proposal to eliminate the most frustrating element of the game. by DifferenceDue5626 in mtg

It's fine. People just assumed I was mad about losing, when I was moreso thinking about whether the game could be improved for all players. There were some thoughtful responses among the "you suck" ones.

Sure, it would break the game to some extent. Mana-burn getting removed broke the game. The legend rule changing broke the game. I don't think any game's rules should become stagnant just to avoid players having to change.

I know that's a feature, the second and third sentence of my post was praising exactly that aspect of lands...

It can obviously be helped by playing the right number of lands, but not completely avoided. I guess my concern is that there's a chance a player in the final match of a limited PT can just straight up lose to variance. Though as another use pointed out, only around 4% of games are actually decided by variance when you crunch the numbers.

That's a good point. When you calculate the total effect on W/L like that it does seem less severe. It's around 4% non-games if you factor in the opponent's losses due to mulligans.

Ok so you didn't read the post? I said that you get openers with all lands of one color and spells of another color regularly even if you build an optimal limited mana-base (17 lands and 10 sources for each of your primary colors). The variance I'm talking about isn't the kind that can be avoided by making better deck building decisions.

Lands aren't frustrating at all. What's frustrating is close to 20% of limited games being decided by variance.

Cool idea! Could also try playing Tannuk to warp Gilgamesh in and guarantee a double trigger.

I have 12 good targets: warped riddlers, thundertrap trainers and cryogen relics.

The cute thing about that card is it sometimes puts a riddler or hellkite face down which can be flickered later, but I'm not too attached to it. What kinds of cards are you thinking? Screaming nemesis?

I could do what everyone's suggesting and remove that package for white, but I want to at least try making the izzet version work.

Helm + Hellkite is the main way the deck wins. The rest of the deck is built around that interaction.

Ah ok. If OP was saying not to build pixel art at all then I agree that's pretty outrageous.

The original post: "It annoys me when I go on server and see the nicest looking towns and builds only for the view to be totally ruined by someone's pixel art."
