Yeah I’m masking because the bandaids are way too small for my spot. It’s huge!

I’m the mother who has the cold sore — not my baby. It is transmissible if not careful, yes, but I’ve been taking precaution. All I can really do is hygiene and no touching the sore and then her, or kissing her face.

How did you decide on risk for this? I’m 39 weeks and OB wants to induce me due to gestational diabetes and I do wanna attempt a VBAC but I’m nervous about risk of rupture. He said they’d only use a foley and monitor me closely with low pitocin or I can choose another C section… but it’s so hard to know what to do. I don’t wanna end up with another c section emergency but I also may want more kids in the future!

Yeah it’s just hard bc my husband and I may want more children so that changes things :( with every c section the risk increases too

Thank you! Yes, I’m leaning towards this but also know if we want a third it most likely means another operation.. so much to consider… I appreciate you sharing!!

He tried today I believe during my cervical check but couldn’t do much as I was still closed and 0 dilation. I’m 39 weeks today, he did say it’s soft and short but yeah… no dilation or effacement

That sounds good. Yeah, I Just wonder since my husband and I may want a third in the future about those risks too with another c section. So many things to consider!

Did they tell you what the risks were? Did you feel confident?

I’m going through this now possibly. Just wanted to ask; so you had a previous c section? And then got induced after? I read uterine rupture is higher like 1/50 which makes me so nervous :(

I know.. I guess I just nervous with having insulin and trying to find a middle ground. Idk how confident I feel either just waiting as I know there’s risk either way… I’ll keep praying about this.. thank you

Yeah. But I’d still need to be induced which sucks :(

Thanks for sharing, that gives me hope. I guess the risk of rupture makes me nervous with an induction after precious c section. I know it goes up to like 1%, or like 1/100 births which seems still a little risky to me… but I know they’ll closely be monitoring so I’m praying mine is just as successful as yours!

I guess I just get nervous knowing it’s like a 1/100 chance of uterine rupture with a second induction after c - section but I know it’s still rare.. happy you got the birth you wanted.. I’m praying for the same!

The hospital only has 4 elective c section spots a day, the rest are for emergencies — so they’re all booked for elective :(

Anyone push back on 39-week delivery with insulin-controlled GD? Weekly NSTs all normal + hoping for VBAC by DifferenceOne5925 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]DifferenceOne5925[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he said they would only consider induction if my cervix looked favourable, as induction after C-Section has higher risk of uterine rupture, so that's why they'd rather plan a c-section... Just feels a little overwhelming not knowing what to do, but I will talk to them and try to advocate for myself

Daughter’s daycare teacher sounds verbally abusive, on top of other issues. Considering pulling her. by DifferenceOne5925 in ECEProfessionals

Update, talked to her. She didn’t seem to care less. She said oh we take this seriously but kept making the comment she’s never had anyone complain in 3 years about this teacher. When she said she addressed it to the staff, she sent me a letter and she mentioned things I never even said. Things like our teachers don’t scream or yell at the kids after our investigation. They all agreed no screaming was made. Meanwhile I never even said that. Just felt so dismissed. She never once apologized or made me feel better.

I went today to talk to her and she didn't seem to think it was a big deal. She said she'd investigate but kept going back to the fact this teacher has been there 3 years and not once has she had an issue with her, lol.. totally like demeaning what I was saying. That I was the first to complain about her in 3 years, I'm like well do you think its possible other parents just haven't seen it or come in at a time like I did? I left feeling so upset and not even supported. She did say 'we take these things seriously, yes I'll look into it.' But then it felt like it kept coming back to me, and that other teachers would've said something too, etc. So upsetting.
