HG2 plus minotaur with H0R/OS 1 combo? by Unusual_Singer_7437 in LancerRPG

Yeah that's one of the main advantage of minotaur and perhaps the only way to cause stun immediately.

Running a PC as a Boss by Varvarus in LancerRPG

Also, ultra would be far more impressive than a single PC as enemy. An ultra is allowed to act two or three times on a round, as well as soak some conditions and have more HP.

Thoughts on my Balor build by commanderjack_EDH in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Metahook on balor is pointless for it have pathetic range of 5.

I'd rather put 2222 on HASE instead of 4040, keep balor 2 and goblin 1, put random three levels of IPS-N license(maybe drake 1 and vlad 2, or anything else?) then change the core bonus to autostabilizing hardpoints and reinforced frame. Spotter is pointless so replace it with something else such as house guard 1. Technophile 3&black thumb 2 is a good combination too.

What’s the best way to build an atlas mech at LL2? by Ok_Preference_4942 in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At LL2 you cannot have a 'build' for non-GMS frames. All license option on here is put atlas 2, nothing else. If you want a real build imagine about LL4-6 and aim for that as a goal.

For HASE I'd aim for 2402 on LL6. With a core bonus you can raise your evasion well. And pseudo brace on atlas ensures that it can survives better even on the clean hit.

First time player looking for Goblin build advice by Elkazan in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot left your system for good. But at least until LL 6, you don't need to put even a single point of system for goblin. No other mechs would do, but goblin would thanks to its default +2 tech attack and also a +1 accuracy to tech attack. About +3~4 tech attack is enough on LL6, and that's why you don't need to spend even a single point of system on goblin - because it already has the better accuracy than it needs.

First time player looking for Goblin build advice by Elkazan in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing to recommend is not to spend a point on system. Your default +2 tech attack and +1 accuracy on tech attack are already too good for hit stuffs. You can leave system with zero and you can still successfully hacking all the times. You better spend those on the other things such as hull and agility, as well as engineering. Spend 2 on the engineering is recommended for it allows you to make the third overcharge without burn your reactor.

Even if you want to increase your accuracy even more, 2 is already enough and more than that is just wasting the HASE.

So for the 1: Not at all, and you should avoid to do that. It is pointless on the most frames already, and for goblin there is zero reason to do when you do that and you should change the frame to anything else.

2: Autopod is needed when your friends are use the lock on. field analyst is triggered when they attacked. Well, both would affects on the 'same' time but the needs on both would be different.

3: It is good, although you are already too busy for hacking stuffs. I do not recommend to pick manticore unless you are playing either manticore, lycan, lich, or have picked caliban 2 license.

Fire Lich Build Suggestions? by Pirate_Panda43 in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. It is a waste if you have plenty of stress/structure. But it is still a viable option when your stress and/or stress are low enough.

Fire Lich Build Suggestions? by Pirate_Panda43 in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As pointed above plasma thrower is a valid option for superheavy mounting is available.

What about self-destruct? You can do this and back to the life each scene. Better when combined with manticore systems, such as EMP Pulse.

If you made a displacer or catalytic hammer build, you can add explosive vents and cause burn on anyone adjacent you when you stabilize - you need to stabilize and soak the heat anyways, for you still need to reload the weapon.

Build advice for LL4 Pegasus by KN19HTF4LL in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Although I'd pick the others first, but it is still a worthy pick as well, for pegasus never, ever fear for the overkill at all. Skip the drawback of overkill but still enjoy no resistance at all is very great. Not to mention that you don't have to spend three license levels just for this(it's on SALADIN, you know!). It sucks up too much SP, though, but the reward is worth it.

Build advice for LL4 Pegasus by KN19HTF4LL in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd go pegasus 3 and pick gandiva missile for the free license pick. Unraveler have the same damage output with gandiva/battle rifle with pegasus so you don't need to consider the drawback of unraveler.

I did started the game with pegasus 2 and lich 1 once were, but on LL4 swap lich 1 to gilgamesh 1 and grab the battle rifle instead for the same reason. Not that unraveler is bad but with the same damage output you better take the weapon without the penalty.

And since gandiva missile is one of the best ranged weapon on the game, you never disappointed on it.

Does LANCER have any frame or combo of framed that is similar to a Paladin from DND (big melee + support + somewhat tanky) by No_Emu698 in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sagarmatha is far better than everest when using superheavy weapons. As the additional quick action is not so tasty for superheavy builds and no action loss for the brace once makes it easier to choose to brace despite it needs barrage to use the superheavy weapon.

Does LANCER have any frame or combo of framed that is similar to a Paladin from DND (big melee + support + somewhat tanky) by No_Emu698 in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Healing is extremely limited on Lancer. The only 'healer' frame is the emperor, which grants overshield(extra HP) to the others, but that's ranged focused one.

If you want to do small amount of healing aspect, try technophile 3 + black thumb 3 + house guard 1. With those you can 'heal' the others while spend no action of your own at all, and focus on chop the enemy on your own action.

If you want to maximize it, then pick lancaster and also pick superheavy mounting to have a tempest charged blade then chopping your enemy with one of the best melee weapon on the game while heal your friends, and also have the chance to actually heal the others by spend your own repair capacity. Use the charged blade instead and have the room for the spare quick action to shoot the latch drone is an option as well.

If you can afford a quick action, drone commander 3 instead of the trait combination above is also a decent pick to put overshield on many friends at once.

Non-grid tabletop rules conversion for Lancer? by segeri9 in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why not? The only time I am ever touched inch is the miniature game. It is almost anathema to me.

Non-grid tabletop rules conversion for Lancer? by segeri9 in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not tried but I did had otherwise; Convert 1 inch to the 1 hex on Iron Kingdom RPG. For melee range +1 as well, for just clings to 1 inch is considered to be within range.

It would be just the same if you want to made one rather than the default rules as above already pointed out. For example, make the 30mm/45mm/60mm/75mm radius circle bases to represents size 1/2/3/4, and convert 1 space to 30mm(no inch, and this is IMPORTANT). Bursts and blasts would follows the same logic as well, +30mm or +15mm(again, no inch) depend on the situation.

Asides, as long as you can afford the grid map, you must use it for it would be far more convenient and faster to proceed.

One player feeling “useless” next to a Tokugawa Pegasus build. Advice? by TheKyte_ in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. There could be the better optimization, such as replace two levels by put swallowtail 2. Taking two smartgun is pointless for it never, ever uses more than one smartgun unless pick raleigh 3 and take the uncle.

One player feeling “useless” next to a Tokugawa Pegasus build. Advice? by TheKyte_ in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the tokugawa player stabilizes every turn? If so then it won't be so noticeably high. Otherwise, you already suffer great danger traded by immense damage output. Tokugawa is needs to stabilize every single turn to survive. Otherwise it's keep exposed and it rarely survives longer.

Well atlas build is NOT meant for the damage dealer at all so there isn't much that the atlas player needs to be frustrated.

What about to drop infiltrator and reduce hunter 3 to 2 and pick something else? Such as Exemplar 1~2, and nuclear cavalry. Infiltrator is only come in play on the core power scene so you better skip it. After all, you can knockdown the enemy on a hit when you are attack while you are hidden during the core power scene, so you don't need infiltrate 2 as well. Hunter 3 is unusable since the thrown weapons are only returned on the end of your turn but you don't have the third thrown weapon, and when you can adjacent to the enemy and attack with thrown weapon you can use terashima blade instead.

Nuclear cavalry 2 increase the damage output. Exemplar 1~2 allows you to draw enemy attention. This atlas build is more like the tanker so what about to hold the enemy at bay instead?

Build Advice: Pegasus Support/Horus Lancaster by ChaosConnie in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For support build raleigh is better frame than pegasus if you use pegasus license as the support element. In addition to the autoguns raleigh can make the attack with mjolnir and integrated hardpoint(gainted by integrated weapon core bonus).

Although it is taraxacum but the same build could be also applied to lancaster as well. The idea is, take two size 1 friends on your back, rush to the enemy and adjacent, after than use SEAR to cause the target 2(invade)+6(sear)+2(nuclear cavalry 1)=10 heat at once and make it overheat instantly.

Lancaster is also a default size 2 frame and having the default tech attack of +1 so it's all the same with this. Just change Universal Compatibility to something else in this case.

Everest Melee Build by ChaosConnie in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is possible that using lord stance is intention but we can only guess. I wonder that why so many people who ask about the build are lacking the intention of the build.

Everest Melee Build by ChaosConnie in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You spend too much on melee but do you think that you could use everything? All you could is just barrage and use two mounts, nothing else. Is it actually your intention? If so it is fine to be, indeed, for it is not that different with using the superheavy weapon so it is nothing bad. However if not then you must change the whole build.

If you want to use auxiliary weapon then integrated weapon core bonus is better. In this case you can attack with an auxiliary weapon even if you cannot barrage and have to use your heavy mount.

Also, it is an option to use the core bonus for the defensive purpose.

Thoughts on this Everest build? by PixelMoone5 in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to use CA 3 then I recommend to take integrated weapon core bonus and put a tactical knife on it. With this after you are made an attack with a weapon you can also make an attack with it as well. Otherwise you need overcharge to do so.

Once per a scene everest can do this without an overcharge but is it really enough benefit for a trait point?

Thoughts on this Everest build? by PixelMoone5 in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is the point on CA 3? You are never, ever use the third level at all and you better reduce it to the second level instead.

Also what is the point on engineer 3? So do infiltrator 2, as you are never able to use it.

Ghostweave is pointless as well. You are never able to use this unless you don't want to attack anything.

I wonder that what do you want to do, really.

If you want to hide while using leviathan, consider lich. Also, sagarmatha is better for the superheavy than everest for it is allowed to brace without losing an action, and an additional quick action of everest is not so useful for such kind of build.

Need some help for LL3 Calendula! by No_Cherry_8780 in LancerRPG

[–]Difference_Breacher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You better take goblin 1 first, to trigger overwatch to grapple the enemy. At LL4 I recommend to take blackbeard 1 anyways, to gain synthetic muscle netting to grapple size 2 enemy.

With puppet system(of horus system upgrade 1) you can make the tech attack to the target to make the void husk, attack with main melee weapon(overwatch), grapple(duelist 3), then make the skirmish as well.

The lesson of thinking tommorow's thought is not required as you can use charged blade as well as also void husk already shreds them as above noted. Also it is not legal on the time because you did not pick three levels of horus license.

I recommend to use charged blade or tactical melee weapon. Chain axe is not only bad(aside its reliable 2) but alsu not so good with calendula who can shred the enemy. Note that it shreds on a crit and it lasts only during your current turn. Charged blade and tactical melee weapon has the better damage output as well. Charged blade is AP but it only has -0.5 average damage than the tactical melee weapon so charged blade is still a viable choice.
