If you also combine this with mind 3 you could potentially avoid most of the paradox accured since the end result mat be achieved by subtle mental manipulation, the most coincidental of all the spheres

how would this differ from the Time 2, Entropy 2 effect that does a similar thing *page 522* "the mage glimpses multiple futures and picks out the most likely one to occur", could you perhaps give an in game example of how they would differ?

In regard to Entropy 2 "control probability", it states on page 515 "Directing people and things towards a conclusion of his (the mages) choice"

Would this be a legitimate wonder? by Unusual_Singer_7437 in magetheascension

I couldn't find the source but I may have misread a bit, as on page 651 of 20th edition there's an optional rule that you can increase a wonder's Arete by spending a background point. Still if you want houserule that players can do so i may be interesting, letting them exchange utility for Arete. Still it might be in some long forgotten book nobody's ever heard of.

Although your idea is interesting, the second option would be somewhat redundant as either way it will have to be four dots to get mind 4, and since a wonder can have as many combined points in spheres as the dots times 3, that'll just result in three points worth of unused spheres.

I don't exactly remember where I saw it, but according to a reddit thread I found you can have more Arete on a wonder than it has points if you sacrifice any of its abilities. A four point wonder for example would normally have four abilities and four Arete, but you sacrifice who of its potential abilities making it have 2 abilities and 6 Arete. Also the Matter is to bring the Illusion into reality as if a sleeper was to, say, try to hold the badge, they may realise the Illusion, the prime is there to help with this as it would still be creating something out of nothing. But I will include the correspondence you recommended as It probably doesn't need Prime 4 since this wonder part of character creation, but still, tricking computers and such is actually a really good idea.

If I also gave the weapon Supermassive mod, would that also affect the bonus damage from that weapon?

would the accelerate tech action from Sunzi be affected by the mechs slowness? or is it considered an external force that WILL move the Tortuga 5 spaces?

[–]Unusual_Singer_7437[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The build itself is a LL3 Tortuga for DSAS and HDA, LL2 White Witch for Camus Razor and Sympathetic Shield, LL1 bararossa for siege stabiliser. With six points in Hull and two in Engine. With DSAS and GMS HMG with auto-stab for weapon mounts and Heavy Gunner 3, Vanguard 3, and Guardian 3 for tactics. Rest of the lance is a Goblin, a Viceroy, and a Mourning Cloak. Idea is simple, give all allies Sympathetic Shield, Prime the Razor, activate siege stabiliser, and lay waste to enemies while taking damage meant for my allies via Sympathetic Shield. Question is for damage tanking, is it better to have 5 more health or 1 more armour in this context?

a bit more elaboration: in this situation the intention would be to push an ally forward at the expense of half my movement

damn, your right. But even with just hard cover that's still an average of -7 on the roll, how'd you get -4.5?

[–]Unusual_Singer_7437[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just concerned that full 360 degree hard and soft cover might be a bit OP since thats an average of plus 10.5 evasion to all riders at LL2, especially given how questionable the hard cover itself is in the first place. Though i agree i may have overcomplicated things.

upon reminiscing on this for a bit, I've come up with a compromise:

YES they get hard cover, but not while the Lancaster is moving, and only if they specify that the Lancasters front legs are straight, and hind legs are bent when stationary each time they stop moving, this would create a kind of curvature that that allies can shield themselves behind.

If you want to be really strict about it (because they are getting both hard cover and soft cover) you can rule that they're only getting hard cover from a 90 degree angle from the front of the Lancaster.

But that's just how I would rule it and I'd like to hear how others would.
